To complete Alone in Peril, follow the quest marker from Hoolay to the dock, speak with the Suspicious Ferryman, then return to Hoolay and finish the negotiation. The optional choice to ask nearby characters for help has a lethal story consequence: anyone Jiaoqiu contacts is later killed. Skipping those requests avoids those deaths in this quest sequence, and the reported rewards are the same either way.
How to unlock Alone in Peril
Alone in Peril is the third quest in the Finest Duel Under the Pristine Blue: Part II Trailblaze Continuance series. It takes place in the Exalting Sanctum on the Xianzhou Luofu and is played from Jiaoqiu’s perspective. Game8 lists Trailblaze Level 21 or higher and completion of A Web of Pasts Rewoven as requirements. See Game8’s quest guide.
Quest walkthrough
- Head to the dock. Leave Hoolay’s immediate area and follow the quest marker north and up the stairs. Continue right through the area with tables and chairs until you reach the dock.
- Talk to the Suspicious Ferryman. The ferryman tells Jiaoqiu that the ports have not been closed.
- Choose whether to seek help. This is optional. Read the consequences below before selecting a red dialogue option to ask a nearby character for help.
- Return to Hoolay. Go back and complete the negotiation to finish the quest.
Should you ask for help?
Asking for help is a story choice, not a combat challenge or a way to improve rewards. If Jiaoqiu asks one or more nearby contacts for help through the red dialogue options, those contacted characters appear when he returns to Hoolay and are killed. The nearby contacts are the Cloud Knights Soldier, Realm-Keeping Orderly, and Starskiff Pilot. Avoid those requests if you want to prevent the described deaths in this quest sequence.
| Route | Story consequence | Quest completion and rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Skip the optional help requests | Avoids the described deaths of those contacts in this quest sequence. | Completes the quest; the cited guide reports no reward difference. |
| Ask for help using a red dialogue option | The contacted character or characters are later killed when Jiaoqiu returns to Hoolay. | Completes the quest; the cited guide reports no reward difference. |
Beebom reports that rewards do not change based on the ending; its Alone in Peril guide describes the choice consequences.

If the quest does not progress
HoYoverse’s Version 3.5 update notes say the game fixed an issue where the Trailblaze Mission “Xianzhou Luofu — Alone In Peril” would not progress under certain circumstances. The note does not identify the trigger or give a troubleshooting procedure. If you are stuck, reopen the mission navigator and check the active objective, but this is a general next step rather than an official fix. Read the Version 3.5 update notes.
