HoYoverse later confirmed the location as Penacony Paperfold University College, a new area in the Moment of Sol—but its official update details do not verify the leaked image’s precise layout.
What the Version 2.6 map leak reportedly showed
The leak discussion first circulated on Reddit on August 22, 2024, under the title “New Map: Paperfold Academy.” Replies debated whether the post referred to a newly explorable map and connected the academy to Penacony’s existing story context. Those comments document community discussion, not confirmation from HoYoverse. Read the Reddit leak discussion.
On September 12, 2024, Gurugamer reported that leaker Flying Flames had shared an overhead view. The outlet described a main building with several wings and a garden. It also mentioned an image that seemed to show a dark underground room; that interpretation was tentative even in the report. Read Gurugamer’s account of the alleged layout.
These are descriptions of pre-release material, not a verified floor plan. The original image could not be independently inspected in the available reporting, so the exact arrangement, room list and routes are not established.

What HoYoverse officially confirmed
HoYoverse’s October 11, 2024 Version 2.6 announcement said the update would take players to Paperfold University on Penacony, describing it as a prestigious college preparing for a new semester and anniversary celebrations. Read the Version 2.6 announcement.
The October 22 update details gave the new area’s official name as “Penacony Paperfold University College” and placed it in the Moment of Sol, calling it “Penacony’s famous college, located in the Moment of Sol.” HoYoverse scheduled the update to begin October 23, 2024 (UTC+8). What the leak does—and does not—establish
- Supported as leak coverage: An overhead image was reported to show a main building, wings and a garden.
- Tentative: The reported dark underground space may have been part of the image, but its identity and function were not confirmed.
- Officially confirmed: Paperfold University College was added as a Penacony area in the Moment of Sol.
- Not confirmed by the official notes: The leaked image’s exact architecture, room-by-room layout, map size, or exploration time.
So the headline claim is best read as a report about leaked visuals, not as proof of the finished area’s precise floor plan. HoYoverse’s published update details establish the location and setting, but do not validate the wings, garden or underground-room interpretation.
