Rappa is the new character at the center of Honkai: Star Rail’s Version 2.6 story, but she is not the only familiar face in the quest. The chapter reference lists the Trailblazer, March 7th, Dan Heng, Boothill, Mr. Reca, Robin, Welt, and Himeko among its cast. This is a retrospective cast guide, not a report of an unreleased leak.
Which characters appear in the Version 2.6 quest?
The Penacony Trailblaze Continuance is officially titled “Banana Outrage: Battles Without Ninja and Humanity.” HoYoverse’s Version 2.6 update announcement identifies Rappa as a new 5-star character, but does not enumerate the full story cast. A community-maintained chapter reference lists these characters:
- Trailblazer
- Rappa
- March 7th
- Dan Heng
- Boothill
- Mr. Reca
- Robin
- Welt
- Himeko
The longer roster should be understood as the chapter reference’s cast list, not as an official pre-release reveal. The official synopsis instead frames the story around Penacony’s dream world and its “Mappou Age.” HoYoverse’s Version 2.6 update notice and the community-maintained chapter reference provide the two different kinds of information.
Why is Rappa the headline character?
HoYoverse introduced Rappa as a new 5-star Erudition character with the Imaginary combat type in Version 2.6. The update describes her as suited to attacking multiple targets; after using her Ultimate, she gains an extra turn and a toughness-reduction ability, and she increases Break damage taken by enemies whose Toughness has been broken. Those are the official update’s descriptions of her mechanics, not an independent assessment of her performance.

The chapter reference adds story context, describing Rappa as a Galaxy Ranger and outlining her personal history. It also associates Boothill with the chapter’s events. Those finer plot details come from a community-maintained source; readers seeking a spoiler-light overview can stick to the character roster and official announcement.
Is Sunday or Fugue part of the Version 2.6 reveal?
No. HoYoverse announced Sunday and Fugue as new characters for Version 2.7, alongside a different Penacony Trailblaze Mission, “A New Venture on the Eighth Dawn.” They should not be described as Version 2.6’s newly announced characters. See the official Version 2.7 update announcement for that separate update.

When did the quest arrive, and what do players need to start it?
Version 2.6, titled “Annals of Pinecany’s Mappou Age,” was announced for October 23, 2024 (UTC+8). The update notice says the new Penacony Trailblaze Continuance became permanently available after the Version 2.6 update. Paperfold University College is one of the new Penacony areas.
The listed recommended prerequisite is the Trailblaze Mission “Penacony — Stranger in a Strange Land,” and the stated Trailblaze Level requirement is 21 or higher. These access details are given in the Version 2.6 update notice and the quest access details.
