Horizon Steel Frontiers is a new MMORPG set in Guerrilla’s Horizon universe, announced at G-Star 2025 by NCSOFT in collaboration with Guerrilla. Its confirmed platforms are mobile and PC through NCSOFT’s PURPLE platform. The debut trailer showcases machine-filled landscapes and large-scale battles, but the announcement does not give a release date.
What is Horizon Steel Frontiers?
Horizon Steel Frontiers is an MMORPG built around the world and machine-hunting premise of the Horizon games. Sony Interactive Entertainment’s announcement is dated November 12, 2025, while NCSOFT’s own announcement is dated November 13, 2025; both identify the reveal with G-Star 2025. Sony’s announcement and NCSOFT’s release describe it as a global MMORPG based on the franchise.
NCSOFT is developing the game with Guerrilla, the Sony Interactive Entertainment studio behind the Horizon universe. Guerrilla characterizes its role as supporting NCSOFT’s development; the announcement does not describe Guerrilla as the sole developer. Guerrilla’s announcement calls the project a mobile-first MMORPG.
What does the debut trailer show?

NCSOFT also announced a separate 10-minute gameplay and developer commentary video. It features NCSOFT CEO and CCO Taekjin Kim, executive producer Sunggu Lee, and Guerrilla studio director and art director Jan-Bart van Beek. The announcement describes the video and its participants; it does not provide a full technical breakdown of the game.

The Deadlands
The game takes place in the Deadlands, described in the announcements as the land of the machine hunters. Its world is presented as a large open environment populated by machine hunters, bringing the franchise’s machine encounters into an MMORPG setting.

Customizable machine hunters and combat
Announced features include Horizon-style hunting action, MMORPG systems, customizable combat, and player-created machine hunters. Character combinations are described in terms of tribe-specific traits, appearance and gear. The available announcement material does not specify how those systems work in detail, how progression is structured, or which activities will be available at launch.
Horizon Steel Frontiers platforms
The announced access routes are mobile and PC. The official platform description says PC play will be through NCSOFT’s PURPLE platform. Guerrilla says the game was built specifically for mobile and describes it as mobile-first. These statements establish the announced platforms, not device requirements or performance targets.

The linked May 2026 presentation does not name Horizon Steel Frontiers or give a game-specific launch window in its searchable text, so that timing is not independently established by the presentation. The NCSOFT investor presentation is the primary source for its contents; it does not confirm that window for this title.
