Hot Slugger Location in Borderlands 4: Where to Find and Get It

Hot Slugger is a chance drop from Callous Harbinger of Annihilating Death, the final boss in the Craven’s Nook Order bunker. The bunker is in the Bones of Sanctuary, east of Terminus Ridge. Progress far enough in the campaign to leave the Fadefields, open the bunker by throwing a nearby bio canister at its sealed door, then repeat the boss fight until the shotgun drops.

How to reach Craven’s Nook and open the bunker

1. Advance the campaign beyond the Fadefields. The route guide says you must progress far enough to leave this region before you can reach the bunker. PC Gamer’s Hot Slugger guide, published September 16, 2025, gives the route.
2. Travel to Craven’s Nook. Look in the Bones of Sanctuary, east of Terminus Ridge. The target is an Order bunker inside the cave.
3. Find the bio canister. At the sealed bunker door, look over the ledge to the left. Pick up the canister and throw it at the door to remove its armor and open the entrance.
4. Fight through the bunker. Continue to Callous Harbinger of Annihilating Death, the final boss.

How to farm Hot Slugger

Defeat Callous Harbinger of Annihilating Death and check the drops. Hot Slugger is a chance drop, not a guaranteed reward, so repeat the boss encounter if it does not appear. Game8 also identifies Callous Harbinger at Craven’s Nook Order Bunker as the drop source.

What Hot Slugger does

PC Gamer describes Hot Slugger as a Jakobs slug shotgun with one shot in the barrel. Its listed perk, Blazing Barrel, grants 30% damage for 10 seconds after a kill and can stack up to three times—up to 90% by the guide’s arithmetic. The slug shot is described as having more range and accuracy than a typical multi-pellet shotgun.

Those are guide-reported weapon details, not independently verified current measurements. PC Gamer listed a default reload of 0.9 seconds, but that figure needs particular caution: Borderlands Support’s official update notes say the November 20, 2025 major update adjusted Hot Slugger’s reload-animation timing. The notes do not give a replacement reload value or say whether the Blazing Barrel perk changed.
