Then narrow down when it fails: at launch, after an intro or cutscene, while loading community content, or during a race. Those details—and any exact error message—matter more than a one-size-fits-all fix.
Start by identifying when the crash happens
Note whether the game closes to desktop, freezes, shows a black screen, or displays an error. Record the exact wording of any error before changing settings or files. Players have described different issues, including a “Fatal Error,” failure to launch, and a black screen after an intro; community posts do not establish how often any one symptom occurs.
- At startup: Record whether the game closes immediately, shows an error, or never gets beyond a black screen.
- After an intro or during a cutscene: Note whether the failure occurs at the same point each time.
- When loading community content: Record which screen or item was loading.
- During a race: Note whether the crash happens consistently or only in a particular situation.
These are useful distinctions to include in a support request; they do not, by themselves, identify the cause.
Check your PC against the published requirements
Steam lists the following specifications for the game. They are a compatibility baseline, not a guarantee that a PC meeting them will be free of driver or software conflicts. Check the live Steam listing for any changes.

If a component is below the listed minimum, address that mismatch before assuming a particular software fault. If your PC meets or exceeds the minimum, continue with updates and symptom-specific checks rather than treating the requirements as proof that the system is compatible in every respect.
Update the game and check official information
- Use the storefront where you own the game to check for and install available updates.
- Review the official patch announcement for the fixes it documents. The notes include improved controller support for Steam and a fix for a map that did not load correctly in some cases; they do not promise a general fix for PC crashes.
- If the issue remains, consult Steam’s technical help page for the game, which identifies Milestone S.r.l. as developer and publisher and links to official customer support.
Treat community workarounds as experiments, not confirmed fixes
A Steam Community user reports renaming the game’s OpenXR folder. Other participants discuss clearing a cache, changing launch options, and updating graphics drivers. These are individual user experiences, not publisher-verified instructions or guaranteed solutions. Read the reported OpenXR workaround with that limitation in mind.

Avoid deleting game files or changing an installation based only on a forum post. If you choose to try a file-level change, first understand what it changes and preserve a backup so you can restore the original. If a workaround does not clearly match your symptom, skip it and use official support rather than stacking several unverified changes.

Give support enough detail to distinguish a startup failure from a cutscene, content-loading, or gameplay crash. Include:

- The exact error text, or a note that there was no error message.
- When the failure occurs and whether the game closes, freezes, or stays on a black screen.
- Your Windows version, processor, graphics card, and installed memory.
- Your graphics driver version and the storefront where you run the game.
- Recent changes, such as a game or driver update or a changed launch setting.
Submit those details through the official technical support route. The more precisely you describe the failure point, the less likely the first response will be based on a mismatched symptom.
