Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIf House Flipper 2 will not launch, crashes or hangs, runs poorly, or has trouble with mod.io, start with the symptom-specific steps below. The detailed developer-published instructions covered here are for Windows PC; they are not console troubleshooting steps.
Start with the symptom and platform
Frozen District’s published troubleshooting guidance focuses on Windows PC. Steam file verification, Windows file paths, and the settings below should not be applied to PlayStation or Xbox by assumption; the official sources cited here do not provide a console-specific troubleshooting flow.
- Won’t launch, crashes, or hangs on loading: check PC requirements, verify Steam files, and work through the launch steps below.
- Low FPS or stuttering: adjust graphics and frame-rate settings.
- Can’t finish a job: check the Before/After setting.
- Can’t connect to mod.io or a mod is missing: use the separate connection and content checks.
Crashes, infinite loading, or failure to launch on PC
Follow the developer’s steps from least disruptive to most disruptive. The pinned Steam troubleshooting guide recommends file verification, driver and system updates, and testing without external mods before a clean reinstall. Frozen District’s pinned troubleshooting guide and the current Steam store listing provide the associated guidance and requirements.
- Check that the PC meets the published requirements. Compare your system with the requirements below. The developer says requirements may change after DLC.
- Verify the game files in Steam. In your Steam Library, right-click House Flipper 2, open Properties, choose Installed Files, then select Verify integrity of game files. Wait for the check to finish, then try launching again.
- Update Windows and your graphics-card driver. Restart the PC after updates and test the game again.
- Disable external mods or mod-related tools temporarily. The developer specifically names WeMod as an example. If the game works without them, re-enable tools one at a time to identify a conflict.
- Reinstall the game. If the earlier checks do not help, try reinstalling. The developer also suggests trying a different drive or installation directory.
- Use a clean reinstall only as a last resort. First back up your profile on the PC or in Steam Cloud. Then uninstall and remove the related game files from Documents and AppData before reinstalling. Do not delete those files without a usable backup. Frozen District’s pinned guide links to instructions for locating saves, system information, and logs.
Check the PC requirements and available storage
For current install planning, prefer the live Steam store listing, which gives a minimum of 10 GB of storage and a recommended 14 GB. The developer’s February 2025 support guide lists 6 GB minimum instead. The two official pages differ on storage; requirements or needed space can change with updates and DLC.

Fix FPS drops or lag
Frozen District recommends adjusting the game’s graphics and frame-rate options. Change one setting at a time and check whether performance improves.

- Turn off V-Sync.
- Lower the frame-rate limiter. A lower cap can give the GPU more room, but it can also make motion feel less smooth.
- Select a lower graphics preset.
- If your PC supports FSR or DLSS, reduce the dynamic-resolution options.
- Watch GPU load in Windows Task Manager while playing; if the GPU is heavily loaded, try a lower FPS cap or graphics preset.
These are the developer’s suggested checks, not a guarantee that one setting will resolve every performance issue. See Frozen District’s troubleshooting guide.
Can’t finish a job
The developer associates some job-completion problems with weaker graphics cards and the Before/After mechanic. Try disabling that mechanic in the game settings, then check whether the job can be completed. This setting is not a guaranteed fix for every stuck job; the developer also advises checking again after updates as optimization work continues. The guidance appears in Frozen District’s troubleshooting guide.
