Its demonstrated scope was limited: the report says it could complete shooting-range challenges, not that it succeeded in competitive matches.
How does the physical aimbot work in Valorant?
Unlike software that changes aiming input directly, this project turns detected on-screen targets into physical mouse movement. The mouse stays fixed in a frame while a motorized pad moves underneath its optical sensor. The system was built around an off-the-shelf Cartesian CNC platform modified to use DC motors, according to Hackaday’s August 11, 2025 report.
- Detect a target: A manually trained YOLO object detector identifies typical Valorant enemies in the image and estimates their screen positions.
- Move the aim: Motors move the pad beneath the fixed mouse, guiding the aim point toward a detected target.
- Click: A relay triggers the mouse click after the movement.
This is a hardware proof of concept: screen-based enemy detection is translated into movement of a physical input device. The report does not provide a controlled comparison with software-only input manipulation, or measurements of detection, latency, accuracy, cost or reliability.
What did the project demonstrate?
Hackaday describes the system as capable of completing Valorant shooting-range challenges. That is a constrained demonstration, not evidence that it performed successfully in online competitive play. The report says the detector was not trained to cover the full range of player characters and that using the setup in a competitive match would be difficult.

The article does not report a competitive match, tournament incident or successful anti-cheat bypass. Nor does it establish that a physical mouse makes the system undetectable or compliant with Valorant or tournament rules.
What details are not established?
The report does not identify the CNC platform, mouse, relay or motors by model. It gives no component specifications, dimensions, speed, accuracy, project cost or test protocol. Those omissions mean the article supports an explanation of the basic mechanism and reported range demonstration, but not a reproducible parts list or a performance assessment.
