Steam recommends 50 GB of available storage for PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS on PC; its minimum requirement is 40 GB. Those are system requirements, not the exact size of the installed game or its download.
How much space should you reserve for PUBG on PC?
Steam’s current PC listing specifies 40 GB of available space as the minimum and 50 GB as recommended. The recommended figure is the practical baseline to reserve when installing through Steam. Steam’s PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS system requirements do not give a measured current installation or download size.
| Platform or measure | What is established | What the figure means |
|---|---|---|
| PC, minimum available space | 40 GB | Steam’s minimum system requirement; not a published download or installed-size measurement. |
| PC, recommended available space | 50 GB | Steam’s recommended system requirement and a sensible space-to-reserve baseline. |
| PS5 and Xbox Series X|S | Current install size not stated | The November 2025 transition notice confirms support for these consoles, but gives no storage figure. |
Why the requirement is not the game’s exact size
“Available space” describes how much free storage the platform requirement calls for. It does not establish how much data the download transfers, how large the installed files are afterward, or whether an update temporarily needs additional staging space. Steam’s listing provides no figures for those separate measurements.
If you need an exact answer for your device, check the live Steam installer or console download screen before installing or updating. The available official figures do not establish how much extra room a particular update may require.

What about PUBG on PlayStation and Xbox?
PUBG’s console support changed on November 13, 2025. The official PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS console transition notice says the game is supported on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S after the transition, while the PS4 and Xbox One versions are no longer downloadable or playable. The notice does not state the current install size for either supported console, so the PC requirement should not be treated as a console estimate.
