Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds adds crossover content through paid downloadable content packs, sold individually or bundled in a Season Pass. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the base game and the first Season Pass; owning the Standard Edition does not automatically grant every crossover. Pack contents vary, and access can depend on whether you own the pass or pack, whether the game is updated, and whether you have completed its tutorial.
What counts as crossover DLC?
A crossover pack is an add-on themed around another game, series, or entertainment property. Depending on the pack, it can add guest racers, a themed machine, a course, and music for the in-game jukebox. Those categories are not a guaranteed checklist: the contents differ from pack to pack, so check the listing for the specific collaboration rather than assuming every pack includes the same things. SEGA’s official purchase guide lists six collaborations associated with the first Season Pass: Minecraft, SpongeBob SquarePants, PAC-MAN, Mega Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Avatar Legends.

The DLC adds themed content to the racing game; it is not a separate game. The distinction matters when buying: you need the base game to play, and a crossover pack or pass grants only the add-on content covered by that purchase. A physical copy of the game is not, by itself, proof that a premium DLC pack is included.

Which edition or purchase route do you need?
There are two different decisions: whether you need the base game, and which premium crossover content you want. SEGA describes the Digital Deluxe Edition as the base game plus the first Season Pass. The Standard Edition is the base game without that stated pass inclusion. SEGA also says the Season Pass and collaboration DLC can be bought separately, so the pass is not the only route to crossover content.

For the first pass, SEGA’s guide says, “With the Season Pass, you’ll unlock crossover characters, courses, and machines when they come out!” That describes the bundle’s release-based access model: buying the pass is not the same as every future item being immediately playable on purchase day. Confirm the included content on the pass listing. Do not infer that a new pass is included in an older edition simply because both are called a Season Pass.
If you already own the base game, compare the price and contents of the bundle against buying only the collaboration packs you actually want. If you do not own the game, compare the edition’s stated entitlements before choosing; paying for a DLC pack alone does not replace the base game. There is no single globally applicable price in SEGA’s purchase guide, so use the relevant platform storefront for the current local price and pack description.

What do the crossover packs include?
The confirmed examples show why pack contents should be checked individually. Minecraft’s pack has three racers—Steve, Alex, and Creeper—along with the Minecart machine, the MINECRAFT WORLD course, and jukebox music. SEGA announced the pack as out on October 9, 2025, and says Digital Deluxe and Season Pass owners receive its crossover content when it launches; Standard Edition owners can obtain crossover DLC by purchasing the Season Pass. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pack includes Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo; the Pizzafire Van; a New York City course; and jukebox tracks. SEGA’s July 28, 2026 announcement set July 29 as its release date and gives the same broad access distinction: pass or Digital Deluxe owners complete the tutorial, while Standard or physical-edition owners purchase, download, and restart. Check the TMNT pack instructions for the pack’s details.
These examples establish the kinds of items a pack may contain, not a universal recipe. One pack may have two racers and another three or four; courses and machines are pack-specific. When deciding whether a particular collaboration is worth buying, look for its named racers and other listed items, then verify that the add-on is available on your platform. The first-pass guide names SpongeBob SquarePants, PAC-MAN, and Avatar Legends as well, but the material available here does not establish their individual item lists, so it is better not to assume their exact contents from another pack’s pattern.

How to access a crossover pack you already own
First identify how you own the content. The instructions SEGA gives for Mega Man and TMNT distinguish pass or Digital Deluxe access from a standalone purchase by a Standard or physical-edition owner. Use the pack-specific announcement or listing because exact instructions may differ between packs and platforms.

- Update the game. This is explicitly required by SEGA’s Mega Man DLC instructions. Check for an available game update before troubleshooting a pack that is not appearing.
- Confirm the entitlement. Check whether the content comes from the first Season Pass or Digital Deluxe Edition, or whether you need to buy the individual collaboration pack. A base-game purchase does not establish that you own every add-on.
- If buying separately, use your platform’s store. SEGA’s Mega Man and TMNT instructions direct Standard or physical-edition owners to purchase the DLC through the relevant platform store.
- Download the add-on. Completing a store purchase and installing the game content are separate steps in the published instructions; make sure the DLC has downloaded.
- Complete the tutorial if the pack instructions require it. For Mega Man and TMNT, Season Pass and Digital Deluxe owners access the DLC in-game after the tutorial.
- Restart the game when instructed. SEGA specifically includes a restart after purchase and download for Standard or physical-edition owners of those packs.
If content still does not appear, work through those checks in order: confirm the correct platform account made the purchase, verify that the game and add-on are installed, check the particular pack’s release date, and follow its stated tutorial or restart requirement. A pass can grant access when a pack comes out, but it cannot make an unreleased pack playable. Store availability and entitlements can also vary by platform and region, so the local add-on listing is the most reliable place to verify a purchase.

What is in Season Pass 2, and when does it release?
SEGA’s June 6, 2026 English announcement said Season Pass 2 was planned for fall 2026. At that point it named Godzilla and Evangelion, showed the Godzilla Escape and Tokyo-III courses, and said four more crossover packs had not yet been revealed. The announcement is available at SEGA’s Season Pass 2 page.
SEGA’s October 10, 2026 announcement subsequently named all six Season Pass 2 crossover packs: Godzilla, Evangelion, Virtual Sanrio Puroland, Sega Land, Final Fantasy VII Remake series, and Persona. The announcement says Season Pass 2 and a Season 2 Digital Deluxe Edition went on sale October 10. It schedules the Godzilla Pack for November 4, 2026, with the remaining content to release sequentially from that date. Therefore, as of October 13, the pass is on sale, but the Godzilla Pack’s announced launch date is still in the future; the announcement does not mean all six packs are already playable.
The October announcement is SEGA’s official Japanese-language notice; an English version was not verified. Its text identifies the packs and timing, but does not provide a globally applicable price. Check the relevant regional store for the current listing, and check each pack’s release status before purchasing if you want to play it immediately. The notice also names a Season 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, but the cited announcement does not establish its detailed contents here, so verify its platform-store listing rather than assuming its entitlements.

SEGA’s purchase guide lists physical and digital editions for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. It lists digital-only availability for PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, and Epic Games. The guide also identifies physical retail markets in selected Southeast Asian territories; that should not be read as a promise of physical availability in every country. It notes that physical Nintendo Switch 2 copies were scheduled for March 26, 2026.
The platform and region matter because format, availability, and DLC listings can vary. Before buying, open the store for the platform on which you play and verify that the base game or specific add-on is listed for your region. If you buy a physical game, read the edition details separately from the DLC listing: physical ownership provides the base game, while a crossover entitlement depends on what that edition or a separate pass or pack includes. SEGA’s purchase guide is the source for its platform and edition overview.
