Roblox’s 2006 website changed over the course of the year, so no single screenshot represents its look throughout 2006. Dated captures show shifting homepage colors, login controls and featured-game boxes, while the site’s own copy described a place to build, play and socialize.
What the 2006 Roblox website looked like
A community-maintained archive of dated Roblox pages records several homepage variations during 2006. An August capture is accompanied by curator notes about a green border, Comic Sans text and changing login buttons. Those notes describe the archived capture; they are not an official Roblox design specification. View the archived homepage captures and notes.
The archive records further changes later in the year. Its October notes describe a switch from green to orange, a new featured game and a “Friendliest Folk” box. In November, the homepage returned to green and featured another game. The November 12 page is labeled “New homepage” in the archive. These dated differences make it more accurate to think of Roblox’s 2006 look as an evolving website than as one fixed design.
What Roblox said the site was for
Archived site copy described Roblox as “a casual virtual world with fully constructible/desctructible environments. Build, battle, or just hang out.” The spelling here follows the archive’s transcription. It presents the site as a combination of building, play and social interaction, rather than just a collection of games. Read the archived homepage text.

Features developing alongside the design
Archived release notices help explain the experience the changing site was promoting. They record feature additions and improvements, but do not establish that every feature appeared on every homepage capture.

How to interpret surviving screenshots
The visual record comes from a community-maintained archive index linking dated Wayback captures, not from a complete official design history. The index notes that some archived pages are broken or incomplete. A screenshot can establish what is visible in that particular capture; curator notes can add context, but should not be treated as proof that every interface element looked the same throughout the year. About the archive and its capture limitations.
Roblox’s September 16, 2026 anniversary retrospective says its limited-time Classic app theme brings back the old-school logo, colors and font, and describes revisiting games from each year of the platform’s history back to 2006. That is useful modern context, but the theme is a retrospective—not primary evidence for the exact appearance of every 2006 web page. Read Roblox’s 2026 anniversary article.
