There is no supported older-version download route documented in the official sources reviewed. The App Store shows Candy Crush Saga’s current listing and version history, while Google Play’s reinstall guidance explains how to reinstall an app—not how to choose a previous build. If you want an older version because your device is incompatible, King’s stated minimums are iOS 15 and Android 5; protect your progress with a King account before updating your device’s operating system.
Can you officially download an older Candy Crush version?
Apple’s Candy Crush Saga listing displays the current app and its version history, but it does not document a control for selecting and installing a particular earlier release. Google Play Help likewise describes reinstalling or re-enabling an app, not choosing an old version. The sources reviewed therefore do not establish a supported, user-selectable downgrade method for either platform.
That distinction matters: reinstalling Candy Crush may restore the app where it is available to your account, but it is not documented as a way to install an earlier build.
What to do on iPhone or iPad
- Check the official listing: Open the Candy Crush Saga page in the Apple App Store to see its current version and version history. The listing is not an older-version download selector.
- Check your iOS version: King lists iOS 15 as the minimum operating system for the game. To find your version, open Settings > General > About.
- If compatibility is the problem, secure progress and update iOS: King recommends creating a King account before updating so progress can carry over. Follow Apple’s device software-update process if your device supports it.
Apple’s general guidance about alternative app distribution does not describe a supported way to obtain an older Candy Crush build. An IPA from another source is not verified by the cited guidance as safe, compatible, or able to connect to the game’s services.

What to do on Android
- Check the official listing: Open Candy Crush Saga on Google Play to check availability and the current app information.
- For a missing app, use Google Play’s reinstall steps: Sign in with the Google account used to download the game and follow Google Play Help’s instructions to reinstall or re-enable apps. This may restore access to an app listing where available; it does not select a previous release.
- If the issue is compatibility, check Android and update if possible: King lists Android 5 as the minimum OS. Before updating the device, King recommends creating a King account if you do not already have one, so progress can carry over.
If you want the old version because of a recent change
The official sources reviewed do not offer a documented way to roll the game back to an earlier build just to avoid a change in the latest version. King says the game may stop updating when newer versions are not supported by a device’s operating system: “If you can’t update your game from your store, it is likely that the newer versions of the app are not supported by your Operating System (OS).” See King Support’s “Why can’t I update my game?” for its requirements and guidance.
The Apple listing says the game is updated weekly. When accessed for this article, it showed version 1.338.0.2 as one day old; that is a time-sensitive listing snapshot, not a promise that the version remains current or can be selected. The Google Play listing also says the game is updated weekly.

Why unofficial APKs or IPAs are uncertain
A package found outside the official store is not an official downgrade method established by the sources above. A King Community commenter warns that old APK downloads are risky; that is a user-generated caution, not proof that every such file is malicious. No cited source verifies any particular old APK or IPA as safe, compatible with your device, able to preserve your progress, or capable of connecting to Candy Crush services.
King’s stated OS minimums are iOS 15 and Android 5, but meeting those minimums does not establish that a particular old build will run or remain online. The Google Play listing’s note that many levels support offline play is not a guarantee that an older version will work offline indefinitely or avoid update requirements. Avoid treating a third-party download as a reliable fix.
