Manage a Minecraft Realms subscription through the account or platform that started it. First identify whether it is for Java or Bedrock and where you subscribed; then use that route to check renewal, update payment details, cancel recurring billing, or renew an expired Realm.
Find the right account before changing billing
Realms billing is not managed from one universal menu. The steps depend on the Minecraft edition and the account or store used to begin the subscription. A subscription started through a console or mobile store generally needs to be managed there—not through a different device’s store. Minecraft’s cancellation guidance says to cancel Bedrock through the same platform account used to subscribe.

Store labels and workflows can change. If a menu differs, use the current official help page linked in the relevant section rather than assuming another platform’s instructions apply.
Check when your next payment is due
Bedrock Edition
- Open Minecraft and go to Settings > Subscriptions.
- Find the Realm subscription. The listing shows the days remaining until the next payment, according to Minecraft’s Bedrock renewal instructions.
Java Edition
- Sign in to the Microsoft account associated with the subscription.
- Open the account’s subscriptions and select the Java Realms subscription to view its next automatic renewal date, as described in Minecraft’s Java renewal instructions.
Change a Bedrock PC payment method
For a Bedrock subscription started on PC through the Marketplace, the payment method is associated with the Microsoft account used to start it. Minecraft’s instructions do not establish this path for subscriptions purchased through every console or mobile store.

- Sign in to the Microsoft account that started the PC subscription and open Subscriptions.
- Find the Realms subscription and choose Manage.
- Choose Change beside the payment method, select or add the payment method, and save the change. Follow Minecraft’s payment-method instructions if the controls differ.
Cancel recurring billing
Bedrock Edition
- On the device used to start the subscription, open Minecraft and go to Settings > Subscriptions.
- Choose Cancel for the Realm.
- Follow the redirect and the store or platform’s on-screen cancellation steps. The official Bedrock cancellation guide gives a separate route for PS5 through the console’s subscription settings.
Java Edition
Sign in to the Microsoft account that holds the Java Realms subscription and use its subscription controls to cancel recurring billing. Minecraft’s cancellation guidance is at Cancel a Minecraft Realms Subscription.
Cancellation is subject to the applicable store or platform rules. The available guidance does not establish one universal period of access after cancellation, so check the confirmation shown by the provider. Realms pricing is likewise set on the applicable purchase page or platform at the time of purchase, rather than at one universal price; see the Minecraft End User License Agreement.

Renew an expired Bedrock Realm
- Open Minecraft and choose Play > Realms.
- Open the expired Realm’s settings and go to Subscription.
- Select Manage Subscription and complete the purchase flow. See Minecraft’s renewal instructions if the menu wording has changed.
What happens to the Realm world after expiry?
Minecraft’s Realms FAQ says an expired Realm is unavailable online, but its world can still be downloaded; renewing later restores access to the worlds. The linked FAQ is presented in Spanish, so treat this as a description of the stated policy rather than exact English menu wording.
