First identify what “kicking you out” means: Roblox may be crashing, disconnecting you from an experience, showing Error Code 268, logging you out, or enforcing a moderation or game-specific rule. Check Roblox’s official status page, try another experience, restart Roblox and your device, then test another network. If the problem continues, disable VPNs and conflicting extensions, update Roblox and your operating system, clear local data, and perform a clean reinstall.
Error Code 268 is not automatically proof that you were banned. Roblox describes it as a possible client, network, or application-conflict problem, so the exact message and the scope of the failure matter.

Start by identifying the type of problem

Try these low-risk fixes first
- Check Roblox’s service status. If status.roblox.com shows an active incident, local repairs may not help until Roblox resolves it.
- Join another established experience. If only one game disconnects you, the problem may be its server or scripts rather than your device.
- Fully close Roblox and restart your device. Do not merely minimize the app. Reopen it and test again.
- Try another connection. Use wired Ethernet on a computer where practical, a different Wi-Fi network, or a phone hotspot. This separates a device problem from a router, ISP, or managed-network problem.
- Turn off VPNs temporarily. Also disable nonessential browser extensions and overlays while testing.
- Correct the clock. Enable automatic date and time, confirm the time zone, restart Roblox, and try again.
Roblox’s connection guidance identifies unstable wireless connections, blocked traffic, firewall settings, browser add-ons, and security software as possible causes.

Error Code 268 says you were kicked because of “unexpected client behavior.” That wording does not, by itself, establish that you cheated or were banned. Roblox’s official Error Code 268 guidance points to network communication problems and conflicts with other applications, including antivirus software.

Work through these steps:
- Restart Roblox and the device.
- Test a different network, such as a phone hotspot.
- Disable a VPN, nonessential overlays, browser extensions, and recently installed utilities.
- Update Roblox, your operating system, and security software.
- Check whether antivirus or firewall software quarantined or blocked a Roblox file. Add Roblox to its permitted-app list if appropriate, then restore normal protection.
- Clear Roblox’s local data and reinstall the official client if the error remains.
Do not use “anti-kick” tools, executors, modified executables, unofficial launchers, or bypasses. They can introduce malware, cause integrity warnings, and create account-enforcement risks.
If Roblox closes or crashes
A crash is different from a network kick: the client itself has stopped running. Update Roblox and the operating system first. On Windows, also install current graphics-driver updates, particularly if the crash mentions a client library. Roblox discusses outdated Windows versions, graphics drivers, and damaged local files in its client-library troubleshooting guidance.
- Close resource-heavy programs and unnecessary background apps.
- Check your antivirus quarantine and firewall logs for blocked Roblox files.
- Disable overlays and recently installed utilities for a test.
- Reduce Roblox graphics settings if the device is low-end or running out of resources. This may help crashes, but it will not repair a bad network connection.
- Clear local data and complete a clean reinstall if the client still closes.
If Roblox disconnects from every experience
Test the same device on another network. If Roblox works through a hotspot but not at home, suspect Wi-Fi, the router, ISP, or network filtering. Move closer to the router, stop large downloads, restart the router if other devices also have connection problems, and contact the ISP or network administrator when the home or managed network is the consistent failure point.
School, workplace, hotel, library, and public Wi-Fi may intentionally restrict game traffic. Do not modify managed equipment or permanently disable security protections. Roblox recommends checking firewall and internet-security settings, testing wired versus wireless connections, and removing problematic browser add-ons before escalation.

If Roblox only kicks you from one experience
Join another experience to confirm the scope. A single experience may have a server outage, broken script, compatibility problem, or its own moderation and kick rules. Report the behavior to that experience’s creator and include the exact message. Avoid registry edits, port forwarding, DNS changes, or system-file deletion for an isolated game problem; those steps cannot repair a broken experience server.
Platform-specific fixes
Windows PC
- Close Roblox and your browser.
- Uninstall Roblox, then restart Windows if a normal reinstall did not help.
- Press Windows key + R, enter
%localappdata%, and delete theRobloxfolder or its cache contents. - Reinstall Roblox from the official Roblox website.
For a more thorough cleanup, Roblox documents this Command Prompt sequence:
cd AppDataLocal
rmdir /s RobloxRun it only after closing Roblox. The second command permanently removes the Roblox folder under the current local app-data location. Do not run unrelated commands.
Mac
- Restart the Mac and update macOS and Roblox.
- Disable VPNs, overlays, and nonessential browser extensions.
- If launching from a browser, clear that browser’s temporary files and cookies.
- Reinstall Roblox from an official source and check whether macOS security permissions are blocking it.
iPhone and iPad
- Force-close Roblox.
- Restart the device.
- Check automatic date and time.
- Update iOS/iPadOS and Roblox.
- Delete Roblox and reinstall it from the App Store. On iOS, this is normally how app data is cleared.
Android
- Force-stop Roblox from the device’s app settings.
- Clear its cache; if necessary, clear app data, knowing you may need to sign in again.
- Restart the device.
- Update Android and Roblox, or reinstall Roblox from Google Play.
Amazon Fire tablets
- Force-stop Roblox through application settings.
- Restart the tablet.
- Check the date and time.
- Update or reinstall Roblox through the official Amazon app store.
Chromebook
- Update ChromeOS.
- End the Roblox process, sign out, and restart the Chromebook.
- Reinstall the Roblox app if the problem continues.
Menu names can change between platform versions. Roblox’s current platform-specific Error Code 268 instructions are the best reference for the exact controls on your device.

Clear browser data when login or launch is the problem
If Roblox logs you out or fails when launching from a browser, clear temporary internet files and Roblox-related cookies, disable extensions temporarily, and try an updated supported browser. Roblox provides separate guidance for general website problems and browser login and logout issues.
Reinstall Roblox cleanly
Reinstalling can replace broken or missing local files, but it cannot fix a Roblox outage, a blocked network, a moderation action, or a bug in one experience. Use it after the simpler tests:
- Close Roblox and the browser.
- Uninstall Roblox.
- Restart the device.
- Clear local Roblox data or browser temporary files where appropriate.
- Install Roblox from the official website or official app store.
- Test the clean installation before restoring overlays, extensions, launchers, or modifications.

Remove unofficial clients and unsupported environments
Uninstall modified Roblox clients, injected tools, exploit software, and unofficial launchers. If an anti-cheat message persists, do not attempt to bypass it. Roblox says virtual machines may be unsupported, and rooted devices can trigger integrity-related problems. Persistent warnings should be sent to Roblox Support through its anti-cheat guidance.

Repeated logout across several devices is an account-security branch, not an ordinary Wi-Fi kick. Warning signs include an unexpected password failure, unfamiliar sessions or locations, changed avatar or settings, missing items, or unexpected security emails.

- Open Roblox account security and review Where you’re logged in.
- Log out suspicious sessions. Roblox’s Session Management page explains how to review approximate location, last activity, and device.
- Change the password from a trusted device.
- Enable two-step verification.
- Remove suspicious downloads and browser extensions, then run a full malware scan.
- Contact Roblox if access or items remain compromised. Its hacked-account guidance covers these recovery steps.
A recent password change can invalidate existing sessions, and shared accounts can create confusing session behavior. Do not create alternate accounts to evade a platform enforcement action.

Read the complete notice. A Roblox moderation action, an experience creator’s in-game removal, and Error Code 268 are different situations. Cache clearing and reinstalling will not reverse a moderation decision. Use Roblox’s official appeal or support process where applicable, and do not attempt to evade enforcement with another account.
When to contact Roblox Support
Escalate when the issue survives a clean reinstall and alternate-network test, follows the account across devices, involves an anti-cheat or moderation notice, or includes possible compromise. Include:

- Whether one experience or every experience is affected
- Whether another network was tested
- Whether reinstalling changed anything

Roblox’s connection support guidance requests this type of information, which gives support a reproducible problem instead of a general report that Roblox “keeps kicking” you.
