They do different jobs, and the direct proposal menu is not confirmed in current official documentation, so its availability can depend on your MCCC version.
Choose between a specific proposal and autonomous marriages
If you want two chosen Sims to marry now, look for the reported proposal command. If you want eligible Sims to marry as part of story progression, adjust MCCC’s marriage settings instead. The latter is chance-based and does not command a particular couple to marry immediately.
Try the reported proposal command for a chosen couple
- Select the Sim who should propose.
- Open MCCC Control > Romance > Propose.
- Select the Sim they should propose to.
This route comes from a player report, not a verified current official MCCC menu guide. The report suggests the Sims may need an existing relationship, but the available sources do not confirm a required relationship level or other prerequisites. The command may be missing or named differently in your installed version. Community-reported proposal guidance
If Propose is not available
Check that MCCC is compatible with your current game version, then inspect the menus and documentation for the version you have installed. You can also build the relationship and use the game’s ordinary romance and proposal interactions. A relationship or Romance skill cheat is not itself a command to marry two Sims.

EA explains that a higher relationship makes romantic interactions easier and documents the Romance skill cheat stats.set_skill_level major_romance [skill level]. That does not establish a specific skill level or relationship threshold for MCCC’s reported proposal command. EA’s Romance guide
Adjust autonomous marriage chances
A 2019 community post reports this settings path: MC Pregnancy > Marriage Sim Selection > Marriage Percentage. It describes marriage chances configurable by age group. Treat the path and wording as version-sensitive; it controls autonomous story progression rather than triggering a guaranteed marriage for a chosen pair. Check compatibility before updating or troubleshooting
The official MCCC downloads page lists version 2026.5.0, tested with the Sims 4 patch released September 22, 2026: PC 1.128.90.1030 and Mac 1.128.90.1230. These are compatibility details for that release and patch, not a guarantee for later game updates. The page warns that earlier Sims 4 versions may not be compatible and points players to update notes for changes. Cheats are optional setup, not the marriage action
If you need the game’s cheat console for a separate cheat, EA says to press Ctrl+Shift+C on PC or Mac, or all four shoulder buttons on PlayStation or Xbox; enter testingcheats true and press Enter. This only enables cheats—it does not perform a proposal or prove that the MCCC menu requires cheats. EA’s Sims 4 cheat instructions
