A Chrome Dino run ends when the T-Rex hits an obstacle. That ends the current session, not the game as a whole: Google describes Dino as an endless runner with no practical final level or victory screen.
What makes a Dino run end?
The run ends when the dinosaur collides with an obstacle. The player’s task is to run, jump and duck to avoid obstacles for as long as possible. Google explains those basic actions in its interview with the people who built Chrome Dino.
Can you beat the Chrome Dino game?
There is no practical final stage to reach. Google’s interview characterizes Dino as an “endless runner”; it does not describe a conventional ending or a final level that marks the game as beaten.
What does the 17-million-year claim mean?
In Google’s September 6, 2018 interview, Chrome UX engineer Edward Jung said: “We built it to max out at approximately 17 million years, the same amount of time that the T-rex was alive on Earth… but we feel like your spacebar may not be the same afterwards.” This is a joke about the game’s theoretical limit, not a realistic playtime estimate or a countdown to a victory screen.

Google says Dino appears on Chrome’s offline page, but you do not have to disconnect from the internet to play. Enter chrome://dino in Chrome’s address bar to open it directly.
