On PC, plan for 105 GB of storage space. Rockstar lists that requirement for GTA V, and Steam’s listing for Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced also specifies 105 GB available space. Those are PC requirements—not guarantees of the final installed footprint, and not figures to apply to PlayStation or Xbox.
How much space does GTA 5 need on PC?
Rockstar’s PC system requirements list 105 GB of storage space and a DirectStorage-compatible drive. Steam’s 2025 listing for Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced likewise specifies 105 GB available space and marks an SSD as required.
These are published requirements, not a measurement of every installation. The amount you need may change as the game receives downloadable content or programming changes; Rockstar notes that either can alter system requirements.
Does GTA 5 Enhanced require an SSD?
For the Steam version of Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced, yes: Steam lists an SSD as required. Rockstar’s PC requirements specify a DirectStorage-compatible drive. Check your computer’s drive and DirectStorage compatibility against the requirements before installing; the 105 GB figure is space to reserve for the game, not a recommendation for the total free capacity of your drive.

Why the edition matters
GTA V spans multiple console generations, and the PC product has Legacy and Enhanced editions. Rockstar announced the PC Enhanced upgrade in March 2025, describing features previously available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and saying existing PC owners could upgrade for free. Its store page says players can migrate Story Mode progress and GTA Online characters and progression from Legacy to Enhanced once.
A store requirement, the size of a download, and the space occupied after installation are different measures. A figure for one edition or platform should not be treated as the size of every version.

What about the PlayStation and Xbox versions?
There is no verified, current console-size figure established here for each PlayStation and Xbox edition. Do not use the PC’s 105 GB requirement as a console estimate. Check the official store listing for your specific console and edition, and use the figure shown there; console requirements can differ by generation and version.
