How did donk make history at the Shanghai Major?
The Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 gave donk both a team title and individual recognition. Team Spirit defeated FaZe Clan 2–1 in the final, while donk earned the event’s MVP award. HLTV reported that, aged 17 years and 324 days, he became the youngest player to win a Major and the youngest Major MVP. HLTV’s event report records the result and those age milestones.
Those are related but separate achievements: Spirit won the Major as a team, while donk’s MVP recognized his individual tournament performance. The age claims apply to the Shanghai Major in 2024, not to a season-wide award.
What was donk’s Shanghai Major rating?
HLTV reported a 1.49 rating for donk at the Shanghai Major and described it as the highest rating for a Major MVP at that time. The report compared it with s1mple’s 1.47 rating at PGL Stockholm. These are event-specific figures and a record comparison as reported in December 2024; they should not be read as a claim that ratings from different tournaments or rating-system contexts are universally interchangeable.

How did the Major fit into donk’s 2024 season?
The Shanghai victory was the culmination of a standout first full year, but the Major MVP and the season’s top-player ranking were distinct honors. On January 12, 2025, HLTV ranked donk No. 1 in its Top 20 players of 2024, a season-wide assessment separate from the award for his Shanghai tournament. HLTV’s year-end profile gives the ranking.
Donk’s own comments, as quoted by Insider Gaming in its December 15, 2024 feature, were notably measured: “I’m not very consistent yet. I need to find my key to playing consistently, and I’m trying to do that right now.” When asked whether he viewed himself as a top-three player, he replied, “I don’t think I am, no.” The same article quotes him saying that after winning major trophies in his first season, Spirit should keep working to improve. Insider Gaming’s feature also reports that he recorded four aces at the Shanghai Major, including one in the final, and a 1v5 against Heroic in the group stage; those specific tallies are attributed here to that article.

Is “this year” still current?
No. The original headline refers to the 2024 Counter-Strike season, capped by the Shanghai Major. A later HLTV report says donk earned his first HLTV MVP award of 2026 at PGL Astana. That later achievement confirms the 2024 headline is historical rather than a description of his current season; it does not change what he accomplished in Shanghai. HLTV reported the PGL Astana award on May 17, 2026.
