What Dragon Cat does well—and where it struggles
At level 20, Battle Cats Stats lists Dragon Cat with 9,600 HP, 4,200 damage per hit, 992 DPS, 400 range, a 1,500 cost and a 10.20-second recharge. It attacks one target at a time, with an attack interval of about 4.23 seconds. These are the page’s displayed figures for its level-20 setting, not guaranteed values for every account or configuration; form, level, treasures and game updates can affect stats. The high damage per hit is most useful when Dragon Cat can focus on an isolated durable enemy. Against a crowd, each attack still hits only one target, so other enemies may keep advancing while it waits for its next attack. Its listed DPS does not remove that practical limitation.
When Dragon Cat is a good choice
- Earlier progression: The Battle Cats Wiki describes protected Dragon Cat or King Dragon Cat stacks as effective through Empire of Cats and fairly effective in Into the Future.
- Isolated durable enemies: Its range and damage can help against a lone tough target or ranged boss, as long as frontline units keep enemies from reaching it.
- When you can protect and keep deploying it: Meatshields or other durable frontline units can give Dragon Cat time to attack and help build a stack.
These stage-fit descriptions are community strategy guidance, not a guarantee for every level or team. Check the stage’s enemy lineup and your available support rather than treating Dragon Cat as a universal answer. The Battle Cats Wiki: Lizard Cat (Normal Cat)

When to use an area attacker instead
Dragon Cat is a poor crowd-clearer because it attacks only one enemy per attack. If a stage sends several dangerous enemies together, area attackers can deal with the group more effectively. Dragon Cat may still contribute damage from the back, but it should not be the team’s only answer to a dense wave.
Its relative value also falls later in progression. The wiki notes that Dragon/King Dragon use declines in later Uncanny Legends, where surges, waves and long-distance attacks can punish its limitations and specialist units become more valuable.

Dragon Cat or King Dragon Cat?
Lizard Cat evolves into Dragon Cat at level 10. At level 20+10 using Cat Tickets, the line reaches King Dragon Cat, its True Form. The choice is not simply a matter of one form being better: the wiki says King Dragon has more health and attack but a longer recharge, while Dragon Cat can be stacked and deliver DPS more efficiently.

Verdict
Use Dragon Cat as a protected backliner when you need damage against isolated enemies and can sustain deployments. Switch to area attackers for groups, and weigh King Dragon Cat’s stronger individual stats against its longer recharge when deciding which form better fits your money and stacking needs.
