PowerPyx estimates about 3 hours for the act, while one GameFAQs player reported 5–7 hours to complete everything they chose to do there. These are different kinds of estimates—not a measured average—so your time depends on whether you stick to the main story or add optional tales, camps, and exploration.
How long is Act 3 of Ghost of Tsushima?
For a practical estimate, allow about 3 hours for an act-focused run and up to around 5–7 hours if you take on optional activities along the way. PowerPyx’s game-length guide gives Act 3 an estimate of about 3 hours. In a 2020 GameFAQs discussion, user ChaozCloud reported 5–7 hours for completing everything they intended in the act.

Neither figure comes from a controlled timing study. The PowerPyx figure is a guide estimate; the GameFAQs figure is one player’s experience, not a representative sample. Treat 3–7 hours as a planning range rather than a guaranteed completion time.
What makes Act 3 take longer?
The biggest difference is how much you do beyond the main story. Optional tales, clearing camps, collecting items, and exploring can add time. A GameFAQs participant specifically noted that optional collection and camp clearing made the act longer; PowerPyx’s walkthrough also distinguishes the game’s main tales from its side content.

There is no reliable Act 3-specific figure for every playstyle. In a 2020 PlayStation.Blog Q&A, Sucker Punch creative director Nate Fox called predicting an open-world game’s duration “Always a hard/impossible question to answer for an open world game…” and described exploratory play in terms of dozens of hours across the world. That is general guidance for the game, not an Act 3 runtime.
What counts as Act 3?
Act 3 is the final act of the base campaign and takes place in the northern Kamiagata region, according to PowerPyx’s walkthrough. The act estimate does not include Iki Island: Iki is additional story content associated with the Director’s Cut, rather than part of Act 3. PlayStation’s game page describes the Director’s Cut and its Iki Island content.

How Act 3 fits into the full campaign
For context, PowerPyx lists 24 Jin’s Journey tales across the full game and estimates roughly 15 hours for the story missions overall. Its guide estimates roughly another 15 hours for side quests across the game. Those are full-campaign estimates, not a breakdown of Act 3, so they should not be used to calculate the act’s runtime.
