There is no reliable single GB total for “every DS game” without first defining what counts as every game. A list of one release per title, a collection of regional editions, and a set that also includes revisions or demos are different collections—and the available size lists do not establish an official total for any of them.
Why there is no single GB answer
DS games do not all have the same file size. A total also depends on the release set being counted: regional versions can be separate entries, and the phrase “every DS game” may or may not include revisions, demos, DSiWare, or iQue DS releases.
A catalog overview lists 3,255 games across four alphabetic pages, but excludes DSiWare and iQue DS games from its main list. That is a catalog count, not proof that 3,255 verified, unique ROM files appear in a complete size table. See the catalog overview.
Examples of individual DS game sizes
GameFAQs contributor Humanish’s Nintendo DS size list, version 1.0, was updated October 7, 2024. It gives sizes in MiB and lists regional variants separately. Two examples from that contributor-maintained list are:

These are listed release sizes, not Nintendo-published specifications. The list is divided into four sections to cover the large library. View the GameFAQs size list.
MiB, Mb, and GB are not interchangeable
The GameFAQs list uses MiB (mebibytes), while a separate third-party NDS release list labels sizes in Mb (megabits). One byte contains eight bits, so a value in megabits cannot be added directly to a value in mebibytes. Convert every entry to the same unit before summing, and state whether the final result is decimal GB or binary GiB.

The separate release list also organizes early releases by region. Treat its values as third-party listings rather than official Nintendo specifications. View the NDS release list.
What would count as “every” game?
- One representative release per title: Choose a rule for which region or edition represents a title.
- All regional releases: Count each listed regional variant as a separate release, where applicable.
- Revisions and demos: Decide whether these are part of the collection; a title catalog and a release-size list may not cover them in the same way.
- DSiWare and iQue DS: Include them only if that is the intended scope. The 3,255-game catalog overview excludes both from its main list.
These distinctions matter because the summed size of a chosen set is not necessarily the size of a complete, deduplicated library. Nor is a ROM or file-size listing the same thing as a physical Game Card’s marketed capacity or the usable space on a storage device.

How to calculate a useful total
- Set the boundary: Decide whether you want one release per title or every regional release, and whether to include revisions, demos, DSiWare, or iQue DS games.
- Choose one consistent size dataset: Note its coverage and units. Do not combine MiB entries with Mb entries without converting.
- Convert each value to the same unit: For megabits, divide by eight to get megabytes, then account for decimal versus binary units if converting to MiB or GiB.
- Sum only the entries that match your scope: Record the source and counting rules alongside the result so the total can be interpreted.
The sources available here do not establish a canonical, official GB sum for every DS release. Nintendo’s 2006 semiannual report contains regional and cumulative software-sales figures, not per-game file sizes, so it cannot provide that total. Read Nintendo’s 2006 semiannual report.

No. Nintendo DS games were sold on physical Nintendo DS Game Cards. A collection of cartridges is not a collection of digital files requiring the summed file size as storage space. The GB question applies when estimating a digital set, and that estimate depends on the scope and consistent size data described above. The catalog overview describes the Game Card format.
