CurseForge does not publish a guaranteed acceptance time or average wait for mods. Its FAQ says project and file moderation is handled from 8 AM to 3 PM CET, seven days a week except holidays, in first-in-first-out order. That describes moderator hours—not a promise that a submission will be reviewed within one shift. Late-day submissions may wait until the next review day, and queue conditions can add further delay.
What CurseForge publishes about review timing
CurseForge’s World of Warcraft Addons FAQ and Troubleshooting states that “Project/File moderation is done between 8AM to 3PM CET (11PM-6AM PST), 7 days a week, excluding holidays.” It also says moderation is first in, first out and that files submitted late in the day may not be checked until the next review day.

The FAQ does not give a number of hours or days for an individual submission, nor does it publish an average acceptance duration. The stated hours are the schedule for moderation, not a service-level guarantee. The cited FAQ is specifically about World of Warcraft addons; its wording refers to project/file moderation, but workflows may vary across CurseForge game categories.
Why the wait can vary
- Queue position: Submissions are handled first in, first out, so earlier items are ahead in the queue.
- Submission time: A file submitted late in the moderation window may not be checked until the next review day.
- Holidays and workload: The published schedule excludes holidays. In a support update dated September 15, 2026, CurseForge reported increased moderation and approval delays due to increased load and local holidays. That notice describes conditions at that time, not a standing estimate for every submission.
- Separate approval stages: A project page and an uploaded file can have separate approval states. Approval of the page alone does not necessarily make its file available to download.
What “Under Review” means—and what to do next
CurseForge’s project submission guide says an uploaded file is labelled Under Review when it is sent to moderators. The project statuses guide distinguishes file statuses, including Under Review and Under manual review, from project-page approval.

- Check the file’s current status and notifications. The status, rather than the project page alone, tells you where the file is in the process.
- If it says “Under manual review,” wait. CurseForge says no further author action is required for this status and advises against resubmitting just to move the item along.
- If it says “Changes Required,” read the moderator’s notes, make the requested changes, and resubmit through the normal process. The item returns to moderation.
- If it is rejected and you believe that was a mistake, the status guide directs you to open a support ticket. The published materials do not say that contacting support will accelerate an ordinary review.
Can some files skip manual review?
CurseForge says projects that meet its eligibility rules can be whitelisted, allowing new file clusters to skip manual review. Automated safety checks still run. Whitelisting is project-specific, reviewed periodically, and does not apply automatically to new projects; a new project enters the normal moderation process. See CurseForge’s project-whitelisting guidance for the eligibility and process details.
