Why do official estimates for Blood and Wine differ?
An earlier CD PROJEKT RED announcement described Blood and Wine as a “20-hour tale.” Its later 2016 release announcement used “over thirty hours of brand new adventures.” The announcements do not explain a shared counting method, so treat them as different promotional descriptions rather than measurements to average or add together. The earlier announcement also identifies Hearts of Stone as the first expansion and says the Expansion Pass contains Blood and Wine.
What does “beat” mean for this estimate?
The 150-plus-hour figure is useful if you want a broad sense of the scale of the base game and both expansions. It is not a precise forecast for finishing only the main campaign, completing side quests, or pursuing nearly every optional activity: the cited official descriptions do not provide comparable times for those play styles. A story-focused run may take less, while extensive optional play can take longer, but these sources do not establish authoritative numeric ranges for either.

What is included, and how do you access the expansions?
Bandai Namco’s Complete Edition description includes the base game and both major story expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. Expansion access can depend on the edition and platform you own. CD PROJEKT RED’s support FAQ says that in the distribution arrangement it covers, the expansions are included with the base game and can be started separately from the main menu.
