Your pace, difficulty, and how much you explore affect the total. A much broader platinum route is estimated at 12–15 hours by one player guide, but that is a completionist report—not the expected story length.
How long does the story take?
Reviews put a focused campaign run at roughly 2.5–5 hours. GameBlast estimates 3–5 hours and notes that skill, difficulty, and exploration change the time. GBAtemp estimates 2.5–3 hours per playthrough, also noting that skill and familiarity matter. The developer has not published an official estimate for the full campaign.
Trailmark Games says the campaign has 12 levels. Its stated 45-minute runtime is for the demo, not the full game.

What can you do after finishing the story?
Unlock and play as Negan
Trailmark Games says Negan becomes playable after the first playthrough. The developer’s announcement says players can revisit the campaign as Negan, Daryl, Rick, or Michonne. The reviewed sources do not establish a separate Negan campaign.

Replay in Game+ and try other difficulties
The official launch announcement promotes Game+ for replaying the campaign, mastering each character’s moveset, and tackling multiple difficulty levels. GameBlast also reports that finished stages can be replayed with more freedom to choose protagonists.
Develop character skill trees
Each character has a skill tree, and the developer says fully maxing characters takes multiple playthroughs. Trailmark Games’ official Steam Community FAQ explains: “Each character has a full skill tree that increases stats as well as abilities and effectiveness as you progress through the game. It will take multiple playthroughs to fully max out your characters.” Xbox Wire’s developer feature describes the skill trees as branching, giving repeat runs room for different builds.

Work toward completion goals
One player’s 2026 platinum guide includes collectibles, secret rooms, quests, skill-tree completion, hard-difficulty completion, and combat milestones such as kill-count goals. These are that guide author’s reported route requirements, not a developer-published universal checklist. Pursuing them is what makes the guide’s 12–15-hour estimate much longer than a story run.

For a first playthrough focused mainly on the story, use the review range of about 2.5–5 hours. Allow more time if you explore thoroughly, play at a challenging difficulty, replay stages, or work on character progression. Use 12–15 hours only as a single player guide’s estimate for its broader platinum route, not as the time needed to see the story.
