A June 2026 release-order guide counts 12 main FNAF installments. That is one guide’s definition of “main,” not a universal official total. The number rises when lists include spin-offs, mobile and promotional releases, Fanverse projects, or downloadable expansions.
Which 12 games count as main FNAF installments?
Popverse’s release-order guide, updated in June 2026, includes these titles in its 12-game main-installment count:
- Five Nights at Freddy’s
- Five Nights at Freddy’s 2
- Five Nights at Freddy’s 3
- Five Nights at Freddy’s 4
- Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location
- Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator
- Ultimate Custom Night
- Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted
- Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach
- Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2
- Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit
- Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic
Secret of the Mimic belongs in a current released-game count: Steel Wool Studios announced its availability on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store on June 13, 2025.
Why do FNAF game counts differ?
There is no single agreed boundary for “all FNAF games.” Some reference lists separate the core series from spin-offs, while the Popverse guide includes Into the Pit among its main installments. A count can also change based on whether it includes mobile releases, free promotional or troll games, Fanverse projects, or DLC.

For example, one broad overview estimates “more than 25” games by combining several of these categories. That is an estimate from Cubold Gaming, not a definitive franchise-wide total. Treating a DLC expansion as a separate game, or counting platform ports as separate titles, would also change the result.
What should you count?
- Main installments: Use the 12-title list above and identify it as the June 2026 Popverse count.
- All official releases: Say that the total depends on which spin-offs and other release categories you include; avoid an exact number unless you enumerate them.
- DLC and expansions: State explicitly if you count these separately from standalone games.
- Ports and versions: Count a game once by title unless you are specifically counting platform versions.
- Unreleased projects: Keep announced or unreleased games separate from games that have launched.
Are FNAF books included?
No. The series began as a game franchise in August 2014, but it has also expanded into novels and other print formats. Those are related FNAF releases, not games; for instance, The Silver Eyes is a book, not another entry in the game count. See the publisher’s listing for the paperback.
