There is no single current size for every Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 installation. On PC, Activision’s published launch figures differ: its support page lists 102 GB of available SSD space, while the official store page lists 149 GB—or 78 GB if COD HQ and Warzone are already installed. Those are launch requirements, not measurements of today’s fully updated install. Your actual footprint depends on platform, installed modes and other Call of Duty content, language packs, and updates.
Official PC storage figures—and why they differ
Activision publishes two PC launch-space figures, and they should not be averaged or treated as a current installed-size measurement:

Activision’s October 2024 PC launch communication also listed 102 GB of available SSD space across PC specification tiers. That is historical launch guidance, not a current install measurement. The official figures describe required available space at launch; they do not establish one permanent footprint for every PC setup.
Why Call of Duty can show a much larger size
Black Ops 6 is managed within the shared Call of Duty install. Activision’s August 2024 install roadmap says players can install Black Ops 6 without other Call of Duty titles or every language pack. The large estimate shown on some pre-order pages included complete installs of Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Warzone, relevant content packs, and all localized languages together; Activision said that bundle did not represent a typical install.

Other games and content do not necessarily disappear when you install Black Ops 6. Activision says older content you are not playing is not automatically removed from the shared install, aside from special cases such as temporarily available beta content. As a result, the total shown for Call of Duty can include much more than Black Ops 6 itself.
Installed size, download size, and free space are different
- Installed footprint: the storage occupied by the content currently on your device.
- Download size: the data transferred to install or update that content.
- Available-space requirement: the free room the installer or updater needs to complete its work.
These numbers need not match. Activision explained that a pre-launch file reorganization download would not permanently add the full download size to the Call of Duty footprint. Updates can change installed content, and an update may need extra temporary headroom even when its download is smaller than the free-space requirement.

How to find and reduce the space your install uses
Check the current footprint on your device
Use your PC or console’s storage screen to check the size currently occupied by Call of Duty. That is the best available figure for your particular device and content selection; the official sources cited above do not provide a current, directly comparable installed-size table for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC storefronts.
Remove content you are not using
In the Call of Duty install, review the available content and uninstall unused modes or older titles. Activision says players can remove content they are not playing, including a mode such as the campaign after finishing it, to reduce storage. The exact labels and path can differ by platform and version, so use the content-management options shown in your own install.

Leave room for updates on PC
Activision’s PC requirements specify an SSD, and the support page warns that mandatory updates may need additional storage. Treat the launch figure as guidance rather than a permanent ceiling; keeping extra free SSD space helps avoid an update failing for lack of room.

What the numbers do—and do not—tell you
- The 102 GB and 149 GB figures are official PC launch available-space requirements from different Activision pages, not independent measurements of the same current installation.
- The 78 GB figure applies to the store page’s scenario where COD HQ and Warzone are already installed.
- Those PC requirements do not establish the space required on a PlayStation or Xbox console.
- A device containing other Call of Duty titles, language packs, or optional modes can use substantially more storage than a Black Ops 6-only setup.
