There is no single size for every Pokémon game: figures can differ by console edition and regional listing, and a displayed download size is not a guaranteed installation-space requirement.
This is a sourced selection of recent Switch-era software, not a complete catalogue of Pokémon games for older handhelds, mobile devices, or other platforms.

How many GB are the listed Pokémon games?
These figures come from the official storefront or product page named in each row. They should be read as the values on those listings, not as universal or permanent install sizes. Where a source gives a minimum, or two official listings differ, that qualification is preserved.
| Game | Console / listing | Official size | What the figure covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pokémon Champions | Nintendo Switch; Nintendo New Zealand eShop (2026) | 2.2 GB | Switch listing; Nintendo says installation may need more or less free space. Nintendo New Zealand eShop |

Why a listed GB figure may not match the space you need
Console edition and region matter
Pokémon Champions and Pokémon Legends: Z-A have different listed sizes for Switch and Switch 2. Storefronts can also present different values: the Japanese Pokémon page gives a minimum of 4.5 GB for the paired Let’s Go titles, while Nintendo Australia lists 4.2 GB for Let’s Go, Pikachu!. Keep the specific source and edition attached to a figure rather than treating one as a universal number.

Download size is not a free-space guarantee
Nintendo’s eShop note says: “More or less free space than is indicated here may be required in order to install products that have been downloaded to the console.” The displayed size is therefore a useful comparison, not a promise that precisely that much free space will be enough.
Updates and add-ons can change the total
A base-game listing does not necessarily include later updates or separately sold content. Nintendo notes a free Switch 2 enhancement update for Scarlet and lists the Shield Expansion Pass separately. Legends: Z-A DLC is also separate and requires the full game. Check the specific listing for content you plan to install.

What to do if your console is short on storage
First check the console’s current free space and the listing for the edition you intend to play; do not assume the listed download size is the exact installation requirement. If more storage is needed, Nintendo’s guidance points to a compatible microSD card for Switch and a compatible microSD Express card for Switch 2. Confirm compatibility for your console before buying an accessory. A physical game card is another option for Legends: Z-A, but it is not a guarantee that no storage will be used: updates and DLC may still need to be downloaded. This selection does not establish sizes for every Pokémon game. It does not provide a confirmed current size for Pokémon Sword, Pokémon Violet, older Game Boy, DS or 3DS games, or mobile releases. Do not infer one title’s size from a paired or related game. Nintendo Support lists many of these Switch titles as compatible with Pokémon HOME, but that compatibility list is not a storage-size catalogue.
