The Wingspan base game supports 1–5 players. For a group of six or seven, you need Wingspan Asia’s Flock mode and the player components from the base game. Asia can also be played on its own solo or as a two-player Duet game.
How many players can play the Wingspan base game?
The core game is designed for one to five players, according to Stonemaier Games’ Wingspan product page. That player count applies to the physical base game.
Can you play Wingspan with six or seven people?
Yes. Wingspan Asia adds Flock mode for six or seven players when used with the base game. Stonemaier Games specifies that the base game’s player components are necessary, so Asia alone is not the full setup for a six- or seven-player game. See the publisher’s Wingspan Asia product page for its mode and component requirements.
What player counts does Wingspan Asia support on its own?
Asia is a standalone game for one player or two players in Duet mode. Its standalone options are distinct from Flock mode: for six or seven, combine Flock mode with the base game’s player components.

Do other editions or expansions increase the player limit?
Wingspan: Oceania Expansion
Stonemaier Games lists the Oceania Expansion for one to five players and says it requires the base game. Its listing does not describe it as raising the maximum above five.
Nintendo Switch edition
Nintendo’s Wingspan for Nintendo Switch listing says its single-player and multiplayer modes support up to five players. The six- and seven-player Flock option described above is a physical-game mode, not a player-count claim for the Switch listing.
