Supercell has confirmed the game’s overall card count, but its official sources do not give a separate Rare-card total.
What is the Rare-card count based on?
The figure of 30 comes from the Clash Royale Deck Builder card-count tracker. Its page reports 30 Rare cards within a 121-entry deck-card pool and says it was audited on 18 May 2026 against the May 2026 collection update scope. Treat 30 as the tracker’s dated count, not as a number published or independently verified by Supercell.
Why does Supercell’s 125-card figure differ?
In its 13 May 2026 update, Supercell stated that there were 125 cards in the game. That is an overall game count, not a Rare-only total. The 125-card statement and the tracker’s 30 Rare cards use different stated scopes, so they are not competing answers to the same count.
What does Rare mean in Clash Royale?
Supercell identifies five card rarities: Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Champion. Its Cards & Decks support page groups Common, Rare, and Epic cards as obtainable through chests, Shop Offers, Trophy Road, the Trader, Magic Items, and events.

The tracker lists Hog Rider, Royal Hogs, and Fireball as examples of Rare cards. Rarity describes a card category, not its strategic value. Supercell’s guidance is: “Don’t get too caught up on a card’s rarity, how you use them in battle is far more important than the rarities themselves.”
Will the number stay the same?
Not necessarily. The Rare-card total can change if Supercell adds cards or changes classifications. The most useful figure is therefore the dated one: 30 Rare cards in the tracker’s 18 May 2026 audit. Supercell’s 125-card statement remains a separate overall count, not a confirmation of that breakdown.
