CEO Ilkka Paananen has described the company’s player base as around 300 million monthly actives in a February 2026 post reflecting on 2025. These are rounded company-reported estimates of monthly activity—not an exact count of distinct people who have ever played a Supercell game.
What Supercell’s user figure measures
MAU means monthly active users: an audience measure for activity during a month, rather than a lifetime total. Supercell’s current About Us page shows “~290m MAU” and lists five global live games, but gives no as-of date for the audience figure or detailed counting method: Supercell About Us.

The figure describes Supercell’s game portfolio, not a separately stated total for each game. The company’s reviewed materials do not say how it deduplicates people who play multiple titles, so the figure should not be recast as an exact number of unique individuals.

The current page’s approximately 290 million and the CEO’s more recent descriptions around 300 million are broadly consistent rounded estimates. Supercell does not explain whether their difference reflects rounding, reporting dates, or a change in measurement basis, so they should not be treated as a precise, directly comparable time series.

Does Supercell have 300 million unique users?
That is not established by these figures. They describe monthly activity across Supercell’s games; they do not establish an audited census, the number of distinct people across the portfolio, or everyone who has ever played one of its games. The reviewed materials also do not publish a method for removing overlap among players of multiple titles.
Monthly players are not downloads
Downloads accumulate over time, while monthly active users refer to activity in a month. In 2022, Paananen separately cited 250 million monthly players across five games and more than five billion downloads. Neither number means that many distinct people have ever played: a person can play more than one game, and a game can be downloaded more than once.

Which games are included?
Supercell’s current About Us page says it has five global live games, without naming them alongside the MAU figure. In his 2022 statement, Paananen named Hay Day, Clash of Clans, Boom Beach, Clash Royale, and Brawl Stars among the five games represented in that player count. That historical list should not be mistaken for a current, per-game breakdown of the 290 million figure.
