Marvel Rivals separates its cosmetic rewards into four systems: the seasonal Luxury Battle Pass, free and premium event tracks, the in-game store, and time-limited Twitch Drops. Heroes, maps and gameplay features are free; paid items change appearance only and do not add statistics or competitive advantages. What a Marvel Rivals season contains
A season is not just a Battle Pass. It is a package of progression and rotating activities that may include a Luxury Battle Pass, free missions, special events, shop bundles and creator or esports reward campaigns. Each route has its own requirement and expiration rule, so a costume advertised as “free” may still require match completions or event tasks, while a costume in a paid pass may remain claimable long after the season ends.

NetEase describes the game as free to download. Heroes, maps and gameplay elements are available without buying a pass. Cosmetics are the paid focus, and the company states that they provide visual changes only, with no stat bonuses or pay-to-win elements.
The Luxury Battle Pass
The Luxury track is the main seasonal purchase. You buy it with Lattice, then complete tasks and participate in activities to earn Chrono Tokens. Those tokens are spent on the pass’s reward pages. The free track sits alongside Luxury and includes a smaller selection of cosmetics and other items without requiring the purchase.

The pass’s size and price vary by season. Season 0’s Luxury Battle Pass cost 490 Lattice and included five costumes. Season 1 cost 990 Lattice and included 10 costumes. The Season 10 Godbomb Battle Pass also contained 10 costume sets. These figures describe the named seasons and are not a permanent price or content guarantee for every future pass.
Why a purchased pass does not expire
NetEase says that once you purchase a Battle Pass, it never expires. You can continue unlocking its rewards in later seasons, provided you still have the pass and the required Chrono Tokens. This persistence applies to the purchased track; it does not turn a time-limited event or shop listing into a permanent offer. Check the pass menu for unclaimed pages before spending tokens elsewhere.

Lattice
Lattice is the premium currency. In practical terms, it is the currency you should budget when deciding whether a Luxury Battle Pass is worth buying. The documented examples show that the amount required is not fixed across seasons: 490 Lattice was used for Season 0, while Season 1 required 990 Lattice.

Units
Units are a separate currency. You can exchange them from Lattice, and limited quantities may be awarded by Battle Passes, achievements and events. Because free Unit awards are capped by the activities that provide them, treat Units as occasional savings rather than a reliable way to fund every bundle.
Chrono Tokens
Chrono Tokens are tied to Battle Pass progression. Tasks and events award them, and the pass interface lets you exchange them for the listed rewards. They do not replace Lattice when purchasing the Luxury track. If you are deciding between an event objective and a pass task, prioritize the one whose deadline arrives first; the purchased pass itself remains available, but the event that supplies tokens may not.

How to earn free event cosmetics
“Free” in Marvel Rivals normally means no Lattice purchase is required for that reward. You still need to complete the stated objective, such as a mission chain, a number of matches, or an event activity. Read the event panel’s reward list and progress meter rather than assuming that every item unlocks automatically.
Mission and participation events
Seasonal events add missions or participation goals next to the Battle Pass. The Season 1 Midnight Features event, for example, offered limited-time galleries, a costume, a spray, Units, a nameplate and other rewards. These rewards were attached to the event’s objectives, not to a separate payment.

Match-count rewards
Some events use a simple match threshold. Season 2’s published examples included Scarlet Witch — Chaos Gown for completing nine matches. A match requirement is different from a Battle Pass level: the event page determines what counts, so verify whether wins, completed matches or a particular mode is required before assuming any game will advance the counter.
Event reward tiers
An event can combine free and premium tiers. In the Daredevil/Jeff event that ran from September 17 through October 15, 2026 UTC, completing the event could award Venom’s President Ozzy costume and related bundle content at no Lattice cost. Premium rewards in the same event included Rogue’s Slumber Sugah and Jeff the Land Shark’s Shark in Sheep’s Clothing. The presence of a premium tier does not make the free reward unavailable; it means the two tracks have different requirements.
How store bundles and individual costumes work
Most paid cosmetics appear in the in-game store as bundles. NetEase says most costumes can also be bought individually, but the exact availability is determined by the listing. A standard bundle commonly contains a costume, MVP animation, emote, spray and nameplate.

Before buying, open the bundle details and compare the individual costume listing with the bundle contents. If you only want the costume, the individual option may avoid paying for extras. If you want the complete themed set, the bundle consolidates the items in one purchase. Store availability is separate from Battle Pass ownership: buying a shop costume does not unlock pass rewards, and owning a pass does not guarantee that a shop bundle will appear.
How Twitch Drops work
Twitch Drops are a watch-based route separate from both the Battle Pass and in-game event missions. During an eligible campaign, you watch qualifying Marvel Rivals broadcasts for the required amount of time, then claim the reward through the campaign interface and connect the account requested by the promotion. The campaign window and qualifying channels control eligibility.
Season 2’s Twitch campaign awarded Namor — Will of Galacta, plus a nameplate, spray and emote. Season 10 notes listed Squirrel Girl — Will of Galacta and esports drops. Some Season 10 rewards were released in batches, while others were available only during specific weeks. Watching outside the stated window does not create a permanent claim; check the current campaign dates and reward schedule before investing time.
A practical Drops checklist
- Open the active Marvel Rivals Twitch Drops campaign and read the exact start and end times.
- Confirm that the stream is marked as eligible and that your game account is connected as the campaign requires.
- Watch for the full required duration; partial progress may not unlock the item.
- Claim the reward in the Drops inventory before the campaign’s claim deadline.
- Launch Marvel Rivals and check the in-game inbox or customization menu after the claim is processed.
What “limited-time” means
A limited-time label identifies an end date for an event, a shop offer or a Twitch Drops window. It does not prove that the cosmetic is permanently unobtainable afterward. The safest interpretation is: the listed route closes on the stated date, and any later return is discretionary.
NetEase documented a Season 0 Battle Pass return from May 15 to May 29, 2025. The rerun cost 590 Lattice, included no free rewards, and the announcement said future returns might occur at least two seasons later and cost at least 20 percent more than the original seasonal rate. That was a rule for the announced return policy, not a promise that every pass would rerun.

Official September 2026 notes also documented a Season 4 Battle Pass rerun from September 11 to September 24, 2026. Together, these examples confirm that selected passes can return. They do not establish a complete rerun calendar, a guaranteed return for every costume, or a fixed waiting period for shop items and event rewards.

How to avoid missing a cosmetic
- Read the end time and time zone. The 2026 Daredevil/Jeff event used UTC dates, and Twitch campaigns can use different weekly windows.
- Separate purchase from progression. Buying Luxury gives access to the track; Chrono Tokens still come from tasks and activities.
- Claim rewards before switching priorities. A purchased pass persists, but an event panel can disappear when its event ends.
- Inspect the reward tier. Event pages may place one costume on a free mission path and another on a premium path.
- Do not assume a rerun. Documented returns show that reruns happen, not that every limited item will return.
- Check account delivery after Twitch claims. A claimed Drop may require a short account sync before it appears in-game.
Common misunderstandings
“Free” means no work is required
Usually it means no premium currency is required. Match counts, mission chains and participation goals still apply.
A Battle Pass expires with its season
The purchased Luxury pass does not expire, according to NetEase. Its rewards can be unlocked in later seasons. This exception does not apply automatically to every seasonal event.
Every limited costume will return
No. Season 0 and Season 4 reruns demonstrate that selected passes can return, but there is no complete future rerun calendar or universal guarantee.

Units and Lattice are interchangeable
Units can be exchanged from Lattice, but they are distinct currencies with different earning limits and uses. Free Unit awards from achievements, passes and events are limited.

Twitch Drops are part of the Battle Pass
They are separate. Drops depend on eligible broadcasts and campaign windows, not Chrono Token progression.

Can I finish a Marvel Rivals Battle Pass after the season ends?
Yes, if you purchased the Luxury Battle Pass. NetEase states that purchased passes never expire and remain available for later reward unlocking.
Do free event skins require Lattice?
Not when the reward is placed on the event’s free path. You still must complete the listed missions, activities or match requirement before the event ends.
