What does the 925,000 figure mean?
GameSpot reported that Titanfall sold 925,000 retail units in the United States during March 2014, attributing the figure to an earlier statement from EA. The report says the count includes PC sales. What did the rankings show?
EA COO Peter Moore was reported in June 2014 as saying Titanfall was the best-selling Xbox One title “lifetime to date.” That describes its position among Xbox One games at the time, not a unit tally. GameSpot
Separately, Xbox Wire reported that, according to NPD Group figures, the Xbox One edition was the number-one selling game in March 2014. A monthly ranking likewise gives no number of copies sold. Xbox Wire, April 17, 2014

Does EA’s nearly 20 million figure refer to the first game?
No. EA’s 2017 acquisition announcement said the Titanfall franchise had reached nearly 20 million players worldwide. That is a franchise-level player figure—not copies sold for the original game. EA, 2017

EA announced North American retail availability for Xbox One and PC on March 11, 2014. Its release announcement listed European availability for Xbox One and PC from March 13, and Xbox 360 from March 25.
