Is Where Winds Meet free to play?
Yes. The US PlayStation listing labels Where Winds Meet “Free,” and its FAQ confirms that it is a free-to-play game. Steam describes the game as free to play across Xbox, PS5, PC, and mobile, while the Xbox listing labels it “Free+.” PlayStation’s listing, Steam’s listing, and Xbox’s listing all indicate that you can start without buying the game.
Xbox support began on June 8, 2026 (UTC+8), when the publisher said the game became available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud. NetEase’s announcement says players can download it for free.
What can you pay for?
Free access does not mean every in-game item or service is free. PlayStation lists an optional battle pass, paid cosmetic items, and a monthly subscription. Steam says gameplay content is entirely free and describes monetization as limited to cosmetics.
