Ciri is commonly cited as 21 at the end of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The familiar calculation uses a reported in-game journal birth year of 1251 and a 1272 setting for the game. Those dates come from secondary references, and Witcher chronology accounts do not fully agree on Ciri’s birth year.
How the commonly cited age is calculated
A game timeline reference places The Witcher 3’s events in 1272, while a Ciri character reference reports that her in-game journal lists her birth year as 1251. Subtracting 1251 from 1272 gives 21. This is the basis for the usual game-continuity answer, rather than an age stated in an official quote about the ending.
Why some sources give a different age
The chronology is not consistent across references. The game-series timeline gives Ciri’s birth as approximately 1252–1253 in its broader chronology, while the character reference says the in-game journal gives 1251 and its own summary uses a different birth-year date. The resulting age can vary depending on which chronology a source follows.
For that reason, 21 is best understood as the commonly cited answer using the reported game-journal date and the game’s 1272 chronology. It is specific to that game-continuity calculation, not a universally agreed age across book and game accounts.

What is confirmed about Ciri in the game
CD PROJEKT RED’s official materials identify Ciri as the person Geralt searches for and describe her as his adopted daughter. The official pages cited here do not state her exact age at the ending. The 21 figure therefore rests on secondary chronology references and a reported in-game journal entry, not a publisher-confirmed age statement.
The answer refers to the game’s 1272 chronology; it does not establish a separate calendar date for every ending or for any later post-game events.
