Misty is 10 years old in the Pokémon anime. That age is attributed to a line in the Japanese version of the early episode “Ash Catches a Pokémon”; the English dub omits the age reference. In the separate manga continuity The Electric Tale of Pikachu, Misty is listed as 12.
How old is Misty in the Pokémon anime?
Misty is 10 in Pokémon the Series, according to Bulbapedia’s list of character ages. The cited source is the Japanese version of “Ash Catches a Pokémon,” an early episode.
Does the English dub state Misty’s age?
No. Bulbapedia’s Misty (anime) entry notes that the age is not stated in the dub. The Mary Sue also describes this difference between the Japanese version and English dub in its article, “How Old Is Misty in Pokémon?” So viewers who watched in English may not remember hearing an age given.
Why do some sources say Misty is 12?
The 12-year-old figure applies to Misty in The Electric Tale of Pikachu manga, not to her anime age. Pokémon has distinct continuities, so the manga figure should not be substituted for the anime answer.
