Stella Montis unlocked through ARC Raiders’ community-wide Breaking New Ground event, which began November 13, 2025. Players contributed basic crafting materials to restore the tunnels; Embark later said the community completed the effort in one day. It was not an individual level requirement or solo map-unlock quest.
How did players unlock Stella Montis?
Embark introduced Breaking New Ground alongside the North Line update. The event asked the community to donate basic crafting materials toward restoring the tunnels leading to Stella Montis, described as the game’s fifth map. The shared community effort—not an individual player’s quest progress—opened the route.
Embark’s November 12, 2025 announcement said, “Any player that has played at least five rounds can participate in this community effort.” The event began November 13, 2025, and the five-round qualification applied to participation in that event; it is not a current unlock method.
Which materials were part of Breaking New Ground?
The event named five donation materials:
- Metal Parts
- Fabric
- Chemicals
- Rubber Parts
- Plastic Parts
Donations earned Merits, the event currency intended to carry into the next progression phase. The announcement described the goal this way: “Basic Materials must be collected and donated for the restoration of the tunnels to reach the fifth map: Stella Montis.”

What happened after the community unlocked the map?
In its November 2025 recap, Embark said players broke through to Stella Montis in one day. Phase II, called Staking Our Claim, followed: players earned Merits based on XP gained on any Topside map, progressing toward weapons, gadgets, cosmetics, and tokens. Embark’s recap gave December 8, 2025 as that phase’s end date.
