But official material does not establish the Last Dragonborn as the strongest being in all of Elder Scrolls lore.
What makes the Dovahkiin powerful?
Bethesda describes the player character as “the last Dovahkiin, a prophesized hero born with the body of a mortal and the soul of a dragon.” The hero hunts dragons, becomes involved in stopping a civil war, and is destined to save the Empire. These are story-level descriptions of the character’s role and unusual nature, not a measurable combat rating. Bethesda’s 2016 overview of Skyrim presents that framing.
Dovahkiin means “Dragonborn” in the dragons’ language. Bethesda explains that Shouts are abilities voiced in the Dragon language, giving the Dovahkiin a supernatural power tied directly to speech. Bethesda’s account of how Skyrim’s Dragon language was made discusses the language and its role in the game.
What can the Dragonborn do?
The official description for the Dragonborn add-on says the player can become more powerful through Shouts that bend enemies’ will and tame dragons. That gives a clearer sense of the abilities featured in the story, but it still does not assign them a universal scale against every character in the setting. How does the Dovahkiin compare with Miraak?
Miraak is identified as the first Dragonborn and the player’s deadliest adversary in the Dragonborn add-on. Bethesda says the fate of the player and Solstheim hangs in the balance as they face him. That establishes Miraak as a major opponent in this story, not a definitive ranking of which Dragonborn is stronger in every circumstance.

That conclusion is not established by the official material cited here. Bethesda’s descriptions support calling the Dovahkiin exceptionally powerful in Skyrim’s story, but they do not rank the hero against every god, Daedric Prince, or other powerful figure across the franchise. A sound comparison would need to distinguish a character’s role in a particular narrative, the source and range of their powers, and story evidence from gameplay mechanics.
For a lore answer, the most defensible verdict is therefore specific: the Last Dragonborn is a prophesied hero with dragon-linked powers and extraordinary importance in Skyrim, but there is no official setting-wide power ranking that makes them definitively number one.
