The Landsraad in Dune: Awakening is a recurring political contest between the Atreides- and Harkonnen-aligned factions. Players complete Landsraad Missions to build personal House rewards and contribute to faction influence; if a faction wins control, its eligible guild leaders choose one of three decrees that can affect play. Personal progress and the faction-wide result are related, but they are not the same reward track.
What the Landsraad represents in Dune: Awakening
In the game, the Landsraad turns the conflict between House Atreides and House Harkonnen into a recurring, server-wide competition. Players can pledge allegiance to a House and seek political advantage through weekly Landsraad disputes, alongside the game’s exploration, crafting, and PvP. Funcom describes the game as an alternate version of the Dune story: Lady Jessica has a daughter rather than Paul, Duke Leto survives, and the Houses remain in conflict over spice. The game’s Landsraad mechanics should therefore be understood as part of Dune: Awakening’s own setting, not as a direct account of events in Frank Herbert’s novels. How players participate
The current Landsraad is mission-oriented. Funcom’s Chapter 3 announcement says the updated system adds ways to support a faction and earn rewards, with mission locations contributing to Specialization, Faction Rank, and Great House Standing. The Dune: Awakening Community Wiki’s current summary says each bloc has three Landsraad Missions available at a time, and that a mission can be completed for any revealed House in its bloc. It also says this system arrived in Update 1.3, replacing earlier task formats such as killing enemies or delivering resources or vehicles to a faction quartermaster. These availability and format details are community-wiki summaries and may change with patches. The wiki does not provide enough information to rank missions by reward efficiency, so choose based on the active House, the mission activity, and whether you want personal House rewards or broader faction support.

Funcom’s Help Center says contracts are generally found mainly on Contract Boards in Tradeposts and can be cancelled, but it does not establish that every Landsraad Mission uses that same interface. Check the mission details in-game rather than assuming a particular board or menu path. Funcom Help Center
How a faction wins control
The Dune: Awakening Community Wiki calls the board result that wins the term a Sysselraad. Its current rules say a faction can secure it by either completing a five-House line—horizontal, vertical, or diagonal—or by having more Houses secured than the opposing faction when the Voting Session begins.

The same wiki says the first faction to reach 70,000 Landsraad Contribution secures that House’s vote for the term. These are patch-sensitive mechanics, not guarantees about how the rules will work in every future version. The available sources establish a weekly political contest but do not support a precise schedule or reset hour.
Personal House rewards versus faction influence
There are two outcomes to keep separate: earning rewards for yourself and helping your faction gain political control. Completing missions for a House can build your individual contribution and unlock that House’s reward tiers. Separately, House votes and the board result determine which faction controls the term and which guild leaders can select a decree. Do not assume that personal reward progress maps directly to guild Voting power; the sources do not establish a formula for that relationship.
The Community Wiki lists five personal contribution thresholds: 700, 3,500, 7,000, 10,500, and 14,000 contribution points. It says rewards accumulate across terms and can be claimed from the corresponding House Representative. Treat the thresholds as patch-sensitive values reported by the Dune: Awakening Community Wiki, accessed 2026.
What the winning faction’s decree does
After a faction wins, its guild leaders who have enough Guild Voting power choose one of three decrees. According to the Community Wiki, the selected decree lasts until the Landsraad Session ends shortly before the Deep Desert weekly reset.

Decrees can change practical conditions rather than simply mark a political victory. Wiki examples include access to specialized vendors; changes to crafting or refining costs and times; increased weapon damage or experience gain; and a risk-oriented option that changes item loss in the Deep Desert. The available choices are randomized, so a particular vendor, bonus, or risk change is not guaranteed in a given term.

Chapter 3 made missions the central way to participate, adding ways for different play styles to support a faction and earn rewards. Funcom’s announcement specifically connects the new mission locations with Specialization progression, Faction Rank, and Great House Standing. That means the Landsraad is not only a contest decided at the faction level: mission activity also feeds progression for the player.

For the most useful mental model, follow the mission goals and House standing shown in your current game version, then distinguish the personal rewards you earn from the faction’s board-control result. Exact contribution thresholds, mission availability, and decree effects can be altered by updates.
