In Terraria, activate an Eternia Crystal by placing an Eternia Crystal Stand in an arena, carrying an Eternia Crystal, then interacting with the stand. This starts the Old One’s Army event. If it will not activate, check the game’s message and clear more space around the stand; an exact arena-size requirement is not established here.
Activate the Eternia Crystal in Terraria
- Obtain an Eternia Crystal and an Eternia Crystal Stand through the Tavernkeep and the available items in your world’s progression. The Terraria Wiki’s Tavernkeep page describes his connection to the crystal and the event’s defensive items.
- Place the stand in the arena where you want to fight the Old One’s Army.
- Keep the Eternia Crystal in your inventory, then interact with the placed stand. A Steam Community guide describes clicking the stand while carrying the crystal.
- When the event begins, defend the crystal from the incoming enemies. The Terraria Wiki’s Old One’s Army guide describes enemies targeting the Eternia Crystal.
If the crystal will not activate
- Confirm the setup: the stand must be placed, and the Eternia Crystal must be in your inventory. Carrying the crystal alone is not the activation method described by the guide.
- Check the game’s message: it may indicate why the stand cannot be activated.
- Clear the arena: insufficient open space around the stand can prevent activation. The Steam guide gives a 60-tile clearance estimate for each side, but it is an old community guide; treat that number as version-sensitive, not as a guaranteed current requirement.
If you mean Dungeon Defenders
“Eternia Crystal” also refers to the objective in Dungeon Defenders. The activation interaction differs from Terraria’s stand-based setup. A surfaced Fandom tutorial describes using the E key, but that instruction may not apply to every version or platform, so check the prompt shown in your game.
