Cyberpunk 2077 has no built-in third-person mode for on-foot play. To switch perspectives, install the community mod Immersive Third Person – Best Of Both Worlds, its required dependencies, and bind a switch-perspective key. The mod’s current listing showed version 1.3.0, updated September 18, 2026; check the Nexus Mods page for any later changes.
What you need before installing
The mod listing requires Cyberpunk 2077, the Phantom Liberty DLC, and these five software mods. Keep the components up to date, as the author recommends.

Native Settings UI is optional. It adds an in-game settings route for binding the key, but you can use CET instead. The mod page’s requirements and instructions are on its current Nexus Mods listing.

How to install and activate the mod
- Remove or disable an earlier version. The mod author advises doing this before installing the current version.
- Install the mod archive. Use a mod manager such as Vortex or MO2, or extract the archive directly into the game folder. The author cautions that MO2’s virtual file system may not be stable with this mod.
- Launch the game and load a save. The listing says a one-time activation notice should appear after about 10 seconds.
- Bind a perspective-switch key. The camera will not switch until you assign one. Choose either documented route:
- With CET: open
CET > Bindings > Immersive Third Person. - With Native Settings UI: open
Mods > Third Person > Keys > Switch perspective key.
- With CET: open
- Use the key you assigned to switch perspective while on foot.
CD PROJEKT RED describes Vortex as an option for installing Nexus Mods downloads and says manual files can also be added to Vortex and installed. REDmod is the game’s framework for REDmod-compatible mods; do not assume this mod uses REDmod or that it is enabled through the game launcher. Follow the mod’s own installation instructions. What the third-person camera does
According to the mod’s listing, it supports switching between first and third person on foot, with a free-orbit camera, wall collision, smooth distance adjustment, and five savable camera profiles. It remembers your preferred perspective across game restarts.
The camera automatically returns to first person during combat, driving, cutscenes, terminals, and other situations where the listing says first person is required, then switches back to your preferred view afterward. The author also describes separate first- and third-person animations, so switching back retains the vanilla first-person animations. The page characterizes female V’s animation rework as more extensive so far; male V has mostly received animation fixes. Those animation descriptions are the author’s account, not an independent assessment.

If the perspective key does nothing
- Confirm the mod and all five required dependencies are installed and up to date.
- Load a save and wait for the one-time notice.
- Check that you have assigned a switch key under the CET bindings or, if installed, Native Settings UI.
- If the issue continues, consult the mod’s current bug reports and comments or contact its creator. The author warns that other installed mods may conflict.
The creator describes the project as a work in progress and says a first load of a save may crash; restarting and loading again may resolve it. The author recommends starting a new game for the best experience. These are creator warnings, not independently reproduced results. CD PROJEKT RED says community mods are not reviewed by the studio and that it does not maintain them; for mod-specific help, use the creator’s support channels. The studio also notes that it may not support a modified game.

No. JB – TPP MOD WIP is a separate, older mod with different settings and documented issues, including animation problems and wide shoulders. Its listing identifies Cyber Engine Tweaks as an off-site requirement. Do not apply instructions for its hard-coded toggle key to Immersive Third Person – Best Of Both Worlds: the current mod requires you to bind your own switch-perspective key.
