Roblox’s help page provides these steps, but does not guarantee that spaces will be accepted for every account or region. If Roblox rejects the name, its current validator determines what you can save.
How to try a space in your display name
- Sign in to Roblox.
- Open Settings. In a browser, select the gear icon in the upper-right corner. In the mobile app, select More, shown as a three-dot icon.
- Choose Account Info.
- Select Change Display Name, shown with a pencil-and-paper icon. Some users may see the field labeled Name.
- Type the display name with a normal space between the words, then select Save.
- Refresh the page or app view to check how the name appears.
These are the steps in Roblox Support’s display-name and username instructions. The page does not specifically confirm that every account’s current name validator accepts spaces.
What to do if Roblox rejects the name
Check for a typing error, then try another name that follows Roblox’s rules. Roblox says all text, including display names, is continuously filtered. A noncompliant display name may be reset to the account’s username.
Roblox does not document a workaround for a validator that rejects spaces. Avoid treating VPNs, lookalike characters, or other attempts to bypass the validator as verified fixes.

Display name versus username
A display name is the name shown for how you appear on Roblox and associated experiences; it is separate from your unique username. Display names are free to change, and multiple users can have the same one. Roblox Support says, “You can only change your display name one time every seven days.” Changing the username is a different operation.
Are spaces officially supported?
Roblox’s current help page explains how to change a display name but does not explicitly promise that an ordinary space is accepted for every account or location. A Roblox Developer Forum discussion includes a user example of a spaced display name. That shows spaces have appeared, but it is community evidence—not a platform-wide guarantee.

That qualification concerns character availability and does not settle whether spaces will work on a particular account. Check the save result in your own account settings.
