To show supporters on stream, use a widget or label from a provider that tracks the support event you care about, then add it to your streaming scene. In OBS, a provider’s widget usually appears as a Browser source; in Streamlabs Desktop, you can add a Stream Label source. First decide whether you want a ranked top-donor list, a recent-supporter label, or a goal bar—those are different displays.
Choose what the leaderboard should count
Start with the platform and support event: tips or donations, subscriptions, memberships, bits, or another event. The provider must support that event on the platform where you stream. Streamlabs lists separate goal widgets for tips, Twitch and Kick subscriptions, YouTube memberships, Twitch Bits, YouTube Super Chats, and charity donations. Those are goal widgets; that list does not establish that every event has a ranked leaderboard.
Also choose the display type. A top-supporter or highest-donor label identifies a supporter; a recent-supporter label shows a latest event; a goal bar shows progress toward a target. A goal bar is not automatically a ranked leaderboard.
- Ranked leaderboard: orders supporters by a measure such as donation amount, if your provider offers that display and event.
- Supporter label: displays a selected label, such as a top tip or highest donor.
- Goal bar: displays progress toward a target rather than ranking supporters.
Check the provider’s current documentation for supported events, ranking period, and platform integration before building the overlay. Available integrations and product menus can change.

Add a Streamlabs label in Streamlabs Desktop
- In Streamlabs Desktop, open the scene where the display should appear and add a Stream Label source.
- Give the source a recognizable name, then select the label type you want. Streamlabs documentation identifies labels such as top tip and highest donor.
- Customize the label’s appearance and position it in the scene. Confirm that the selected label matches the event you intend to display.
Add a provider widget to OBS
- In the provider’s dashboard, create or configure the appropriate widget and copy its widget URL.
- In OBS, select the scene for the overlay. In Sources, click +, choose Browser, and paste the widget URL into the URL field.
- Set the Browser source dimensions to suit the widget, then resize and position it in the scene.
- Keep the widget URL private. Do not display it on stream or expose it in a public scene or screenshot; it may provide access to the widget.
OBS does not itself receive donations. The OBS Project says it “does not directly provide the facilities to receive donations for your stream in OBS Studio.” Donation handling and related alert data come from a third-party provider or a platform fundraising integration; OBS can display a provider’s widget as a Browser source.
Use StreamLabels text files in other streaming software
- Install and sign in to the StreamLabels app, then choose an output folder.
- In your streaming software, add a text source that reads the file for the label you want.
- Keep StreamLabels running while you stream. The app must remain open for its text files to update in real time.
Test the display before going live
- Confirm that the correct scene contains the source and that the text or widget is visible at the intended size.
- Check that the display responds to the event you chose and shows the intended names, ranking, or total. The exact test method depends on the provider; the cited guides do not establish a universal leaderboard test procedure.
- Check your stream’s audio and video as well as the overlay, and verify that no private widget URL or dashboard details appear on screen.
Common setup problems
- The source is blank: check that the Browser source has the correct provider URL, that the provider widget is configured, and that the source is in the scene currently being shown.
- A label does not change: for the StreamLabels text-file method, confirm that the app is signed in, points to the selected output folder, and remains running. For a provider widget, check that the selected event is supported for your platform.
- The display shows a total but no ranking: you may have added a goal widget. Choose a ranked leaderboard or supporter label if the provider offers one for your event.
- The expected event is missing: verify the provider’s current platform and event coverage. A widget for one event, such as tips or memberships, should not be assumed to cover every kind of support.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is also to keep a pre-recorded YouTube stream running 24/7, StreamNeo is a separate cloud service for looping uploaded videos; it does not create a supporter leaderboard or go live from a camera. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the uploaded video at its original quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
