If you mean using an external microphone, mixer, or USB audio source in your live program, Larix Broadcaster for Android documents an experimental USB OTG route. If you mean a separate audio track that viewers can switch to while watching, the reviewed Larix and YouTube documentation does not establish that capability. The steps below are for feeding external sound into the program audio.
What you need before connecting audio
- An Android phone with USB host/OTG support and a compatible USB audio or UVC device. Softvelum lists Android 7.0 and up for Larix Broadcaster; confirm compatibility for your specific phone and device rather than assuming any adapter will work. Softvelum’s Android overview
- A USB-C OTG adapter if your phone’s connector requires one. An adapter alone does not establish that the phone and audio device can communicate.
- A microphone, mixer, or other source whose output matches the connected device’s supported input. Check whether the source is microphone-level or line-level and whether it needs power.
- Your YouTube Live Control Room stream URL and stream key. Keep the key private.
Softvelum describes UVC OTG USB devices as usable “as video and audio sources,” but identifies the Android feature as experimental. Compatibility and available controls can vary by phone, Android version, Larix version, and USB device. Softvelum’s USB OTG instructions
Enable the USB input in Larix
- Connect the USB audio/capture device to the Android phone, using a suitable OTG adapter if needed. Accept any Android USB permission prompt.
- Open Larix Broadcaster and go to Advanced settings → USB Camera. Enable the feature.
- Restart Larix after enabling USB Camera.
- If the USB camera or audio source does not initialize, tap Larix’s camera ON/OFF control to trigger initialization, as Softvelum notes may be necessary.
- Do not assume Larix will show a universal input selector. The documented procedure is the USB Camera setting; routing controls can depend on the particular device and software versions.
Connect Larix to your YouTube stream
- In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or select the stream you intend to use.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown there into Larix’s connection settings. Use the RTMPS URL supplied by Live Control Room if Larix supports it; RTMPS encrypts the connection. Do not guess an endpoint or reuse a key you have not verified.
- Save the connection and check the stream details in Larix before going live. YouTube’s encoder workflow uses the URL and key from Live Control Room. YouTube Help: stream using an encoder YouTube Help: RTMPS
If this is the first time live streaming is enabled for your YouTube channel, YouTube says activation may take up to 24 hours. That is an account activation delay, not a Larix audio setup requirement. YouTube Help: enable live streaming
Test the sound before the event
- Start an unlisted or private test stream if that fits your channel and event plan.
- Confirm in Larix that the intended USB device is active and that its audio meter or source behavior responds when sound is present.
- Check the YouTube Live Control Room preview and listen to the received audio. Watch for silence, clipping, hum, and missing left or right channels.
- Test the complete signal chain—source, any mixer or capture interface, cable, adapter, phone, and Larix—before relying on it for a scheduled stream.
Larix documents AAC audio encoding on Android outside WebRTC. YouTube lists AAC or MP3 for standard live ingestion and recommends 128 Kbps for stereo audio. Use the Live Control Room preview as the practical confirmation that the audio reaching YouTube is clean. Softvelum’s Android overview YouTube Help: encoder settings

What this setup does—and does not—provide
This route adds the external source to the live program’s audio. It is not evidence that Larix sends a second, viewer-selectable language or alternate audio track. The reviewed Larix and YouTube materials do not document that multitrack workflow; verify it separately if viewers must be able to choose tracks.
Troubleshooting USB audio

Because Softvelum labels Android USB OTG support experimental, a successful setup with one handset or interface is not a guarantee for another. Check the exact phone, Android version, Larix version, and device combination before a live event.
