If you are streaming a prerecorded video, Larix Broadcaster’s repeated camera-permission prompt may mean you have opened its camera-capture workflow rather than a file-playback workflow. Larix is documented as a mobile live encoder for camera video; the reviewed official materials do not establish it as a player for local prerecorded files. Granting camera access may be relevant if your phone camera is the intended source, but it is not a confirmed fix for sending a video file.
First, identify what you want Larix to stream
- Phone camera: Larix’s documented role is capturing and streaming live video from a mobile camera, so camera permission is relevant to this use.
- Prerecorded video file: The reviewed Larix listings describe live camera capture and MP4 recording, not local file playback or playlist playout. Check whether your chosen encoder explicitly supports file input or media playlists; do not assume that granting camera permission will make a prerecorded-file workflow work.
The repeated prompt’s specific cause cannot be determined without the phone model, operating-system version, exact prompt wording, current permission status, and the steps that trigger it. Available sources do not establish that it is caused by a particular OS bug, permission reset, or device setting.
If the phone camera is your intended source
- When Larix asks for camera access, note the exact wording and the permission state offered by the phone. Depending on the platform and OS version, that state may be described as denied, limited, or blocked.
- Check Larix’s camera permission in the phone’s app settings. The exact menu path varies by Android or iOS version, so use the device’s current settings interface rather than relying on a generic path.
- Reopen Larix and check whether the prompt returns when you enter its camera-capture workflow. Record what you tapped immediately before it appeared and whether the permission state changed.
- If it continues, provide the device model, OS version, prompt text, current permission state, and reproduction steps when seeking app or device support. The available documentation does not identify a universal fix for a recurring prompt.
If you are sending a prerecorded file to YouTube
Use an encoder workflow whose current documentation explicitly supports a local video file or playlist as its input. The reviewed Larix materials document mobile camera capture and recording, not local prerecorded-file playout, so they do not confirm Larix as the right tool for this task.
YouTube’s encoder workflow uses a server URL and stream key. For a scheduled event, connecting an encoder alone does not start the public broadcast: send the encoder output, wait for its preview in Live Control Room, then click Go live. See YouTube’s encoder setup instructions for the workflow. The page also says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived.

What the documentation establishes about Larix
YouTube lists Larix Broadcaster as a mobile encoder for capturing and streaming live video from mobile cameras (YouTube Help). The Google Play listing describes Android camera capture, live camera switching, RTMP and SRT output, YouTube Live support, and MP4 recording; it displays an update date of August 11, 2026 (Google Play). The Apple App Store listing describes front- and back-camera capture, live switching, and MP4 recording for iPhone and iPad (App Store).
Those descriptions support Larix as a camera-based live encoder, but they do not document local-file playout or explain why a prompt repeats on a particular phone. A third-party setup article says Larix requests camera, microphone, and location permissions on first launch; that does not establish the cause or fix for a recurring prompt (Dacast setup article).
