To add an Enshrouded dedicated server to Steam Favorites, copy its IP address and query port, then open Steam → View → Game Servers → Favorites. Click the + button and enter the endpoint as IP:queryPort, such as 203.0.113.10:15637. Reopen Enshrouded’s server browser; favorited dedicated servers appear at the top or near the top.

Use the query port, not the gameplay port. The official default query port is 15637. A current hosting reference lists the default game port as 15636, but either value can be changed by the server administrator.

What you need before adding the server
The Steam favorite is an address bookmark for a reachable Enshrouded dedicated server. It does not create a server, start one, open a router port, or change the server’s configuration. Before opening Steam, collect the endpoint from the server owner, hosting control panel, or server configuration.
Collect the server IP address
Use the public IP address that players can reach. If the server is hosted for people outside the local network, a private address such as 192.168.x.x is normally not the address those players should enter. The correct value depends on whether the server is self-hosted, behind a router, or supplied by a hosting company, so obtain the exact player-facing address from whoever operates it.

Find the query port
Enshrouded uses a query port for server discovery and a separate game port for gameplay traffic. Steam Favorites requires the query port. Enshrouded’s official FAQ lists 15637 as the default queryPort. If the administrator changed the configuration or the host assigned a different port, use that custom value instead.

A favorite only helps Steam locate an active endpoint. If the dedicated server process is stopped, or the address and port cannot be reached through the host’s firewall or router, the entry will not provide a usable server listing.
How to add an Enshrouded server in Steam
- Write down the server’s IP address and query port. Do not rely on the game port unless the administrator has explicitly configured the same value for querying.
- Open the Steam desktop client.
- Choose View in the Steam menu.
- Select Game Servers.
- Open the Favorites tab.
- Click the + button at the bottom of the window.
- Enter the endpoint in this exact format:
IP:QueryPort. - Submit the entry using the dialog’s add or confirm control.
The colon is required because it separates the address from the query port. Enter the two parts together, with no spaces.

Correct endpoint examples
203.0.113.10:15637uses the documented default query port.198.51.100.24:17000is the correct shape for a server whose administrator assigned query port17000.
Entries that will not work as intended
203.0.113.10omits the required query port.203.0.113.10 15637uses a space instead of a colon.203.0.113.10:15636uses the documented game port rather than the query port, unless the administrator has deliberately configured that value as the query endpoint.
How to find the favorite in Enshrouded
- Launch Enshrouded after adding the endpoint in Steam.
- Open the game’s Join or server-browser screen.
- Look near the top of the server list. Enshrouded prioritizes dedicated servers that have been favorited in the Steam client.
- If the list is filtered, enable Show dedicated server so dedicated entries are eligible to appear.
The official support guidance says that Enshrouded lists dedicated servers favored in Steam at the top of the in-game browser. Favoriting therefore changes discovery and ordering; it does not bypass an offline server or repair an unreachable network path.
What to check when the server does not appear
1. Verify the text entered in Steam
Return to View → Game Servers → Favorites and inspect the saved endpoint. It must contain the IP address, a colon, and the query port, with no spaces. A missing port or a typographical error points Steam to a different endpoint.

2. Make sure you used the query port
The most common port mistake is entering the gameplay port. Compare the value in Steam with the server’s queryPort setting or hosting panel. The documented defaults are different: query traffic uses 15637, while a current hosting reference lists 15636 for gameplay.
3. Turn on the dedicated-server filter
In Enshrouded’s server browser, enable Show dedicated server. Without that filter, a dedicated server can be excluded even when the Steam favorite was entered correctly.

4. Check for custom ports
Server operators can change the defaults. If the host uses a custom query port, the default value will never reach that server. Copy the current setting from the server configuration or ask the administrator for the exact player-facing endpoint rather than guessing from the default numbers.
5. Confirm that the process and network path are available
For a self-hosted server, verify that the dedicated-server process is running and that the configured query and game ports are allowed through the host firewall and any intervening router. The precise firewall rules, port-forwarding steps, and address type depend on the operating system, router, and hosting environment, so there is no single universal rule set. A hosting provider must likewise expose the assigned ports and keep the server online.

If the administrator changed the IP address or query port, update the Steam favorite with the new combined value. Steam cannot infer a new endpoint from an old saved entry.
Understanding the two Enshrouded ports
Query port
The query port answers discovery requests used by server browsers and tools. That is why Steam Favorites asks for it and why an entry using only an IP address is incomplete. The official default is 15637.

Game port
The game port carries the actual gameplay connection after a player joins. A current hosting quickstart identifies 15636 as the default game port. It has a different function from the query port, so entering it in the Favorites dialog generally points Steam at the wrong service.
Why both values matter when self-hosting
A server may answer discovery while still failing to accept gameplay connections if only one required port is reachable. When operating your own server, check both configured values and the corresponding firewall or router rules. The Steam favorite cannot compensate for a blocked game port.

Enshrouded’s official installation guidance distributes the Dedicated Server through Steam’s Tools section. On first run it creates an enshrouded_server.json file, where server settings such as ports are maintained. The documented dedicated-server support is currently for Windows.
Practical self-hosting sequence
- Install the Enshrouded Dedicated Server from Steam’s Tools section.
- Run it once so the
enshrouded_server.jsonconfiguration file is created. - Review the configured query and game ports.
- Allow the required traffic through the Windows firewall and, when applicable, forward the ports on the router to the server computer.
- Start the server and obtain the address that remote players should use.
- Add that address and query port to Steam Favorites using the procedure above.
Port-forwarding details vary by router and network design. If the server is behind carrier-grade NAT or another upstream restriction, a normal local forwarding rule may not make it reachable from the public internet; the network operator or hosting provider must resolve that limitation.

Using a hosted Enshrouded server
A hosted server normally supplies an IP address and query port in its control panel or welcome information. Use those values exactly. Do not assume every provider uses the defaults, and do not replace the supplied query port with the game port simply because both appear in the panel.

- The public IP address or hostname that players should use.
- The query port for Steam Favorites.
- The separate game port, if you are checking firewall or connectivity configuration.
- Whether the address or ports change after a restart, migration, or plan change.
When a host changes the endpoint, every player must update the saved Steam favorite. The favorite stores the address and port, not a permanent identity for the server.
A quick diagnostic checklist
- Steam path used: View → Game Servers → Favorites → +.
- Endpoint format:
IP:queryPort. - No spaces appear before or after the colon.
- The value after the colon is the query port, not merely the game port.
- The documented default query port, when unchanged, is
15637. - The server browser’s Show dedicated server filter is enabled.
- The dedicated-server process is running.
- The configured ports are reachable through the host firewall and router.
- A custom IP or port has been copied from the current configuration or hosting panel.
