Palworld does not provide an official, standalone dungeon-respawn slider. On a supported server, you can speed up the whole world clock by changing DayTimeSpeedRate and NightTimeSpeedRate. On a compatible PC or Windows authoritative host, a UE4SS Lua mod can set an exact cooldown in seconds for fixed-dungeon bosses. The official method is broad and affects many systems; the mod is precise but has narrower encounter coverage and adds a maintenance dependency.

What actually controls dungeon respawns?
Pocketpair’s current official server-parameter table does not list a setting named DungeonRespawnTime, DungeonRespawnSpeedRate, or an equivalent dedicated control. The documented parameters include rates for the day and night clocks and a separate interval for gathering objects. That means the answer depends on whether you need a world-wide timing change or a boss-specific cooldown.

- Official configuration: raise the day and night clock rates to make in-game time pass faster. This can shorten timers associated with dungeons and bosses, but it also changes other time-based systems.
- UE4SS mod: set
RespawnTimeSecondsfor fixed-dungeon bosses only. This gives you a direct seconds value, but it works only on a compatible PC/Windows authoritative instance and does not cover every encounter type.
In multiplayer, the authoritative instance owns the timer. That is the single-player game, the player hosting co-op, or the dedicated server. Installing a change only on a joining client cannot override the server’s respawn value.
Method 1: Change the official server clock rates
Use this approach when you control a dedicated server or host and want a configuration supported by the normal server settings. It is the only documented, mod-free way to influence dungeon timing globally.

Back up the active settings file
Pocketpair’s server instructions direct administrators to edit:
steamappscommonPalServerPalSavedConfigWindowsServerPalWorldSettings.iniMake a copy of the active file before editing it. Keep the backup outside the configuration folder or give it a clearly different filename so the server does not load it accidentally.
Do not edit DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini expecting the change to apply to your running world. The active PalWorldSettings.ini is the file the server reads for the current configuration.
Edit the day and night speed parameters
Stop the server before changing the file. Open the active PalWorldSettings.ini in a plain-text editor and locate the world-settings entry containing these parameters:

Raise DayTimeSpeedRate and NightTimeSpeedRate from their current values if you want both portions of the in-game day to progress more quickly. The parameters are multipliers, not a field where you enter a dungeon cooldown in seconds. Keep the two values aligned if you want a consistent clock throughout the full day/night cycle.

Save the file without changing its extension or introducing formatting characters. Start the server again after saving. A running process normally keeps its existing settings in memory, so a restart is required for the edited values to take effect.

Apply the same change through a hosted-server panel
Hosted dedicated servers commonly expose the same values through a Properties, Configuration, or equivalent panel instead of giving you direct file access. The workflow is:
- Stop the Palworld server from the provider’s control panel.
- Open the server’s Properties or configuration page.
- Find
DayTimeSpeedRateandNightTimeSpeedRate. - Increase the values, then save or apply the configuration.
- Start or restart the server.
- Enter the world and check the dungeon entrance or boss timer rather than assuming the panel accepted the change.
Changing the clock rates is a server-wide trade-off. The same accelerated time can alter other timed world behavior, including resource and production schedules and any system tied to the day/night clock. If you want only one dungeon boss to have a shorter cooldown while leaving the rest of the world unchanged, this method is too broad.
What this method cannot do
- It cannot express “respawn this boss every 600 seconds” as a dedicated dungeon value.
- It does not provide separate official controls for fixed-dungeon bosses, field Alpha encounters, raids, towers, and random cave-dungeon timers.
- Changing
CollectionObjectRespawnSpeedRatewill not solve a dungeon-boss cooldown problem; that parameter concerns gatherable objects.
Method 2: Set an exact cooldown with the UE4SS mod
For players who need a precise value, the “Dungeon Boss Respawn Time Modify” mod for UE4SS rewrites the server-authoritative cooldown used by fixed-dungeon bosses. It is a PC/Windows solution and must run on the instance that owns the world state.
Check the prerequisites and scope
- Use a compatible UE4SS installation and a supported PC/Windows Palworld host.
- Install the mod in the single-player game, the co-op host, or the dedicated server—not only on a client that joins someone else’s world.
- Confirm that the encounter is a fixed-dungeon boss. The mod page says it supports boss defeats and captures in that category.
The mod does not cover field Alpha bosses, raid bosses, tower encounters, or random cave-dungeon timers. A dungeon that appears on a map is not automatically in scope; verify the encounter type before troubleshooting the configuration.

Configure the seconds value
Open the mod’s configuration file and set the values in its Lua table. The documented configuration is:

30means 30 seconds.600means 10 minutes.3600means one hour.
Values are rounded to whole seconds. A value that is zero, or that rounds to zero, is clamped to a one-second minimum. Use a positive whole-second value when you want a predictable result.
Decide how existing cooldowns should behave
ApplyToExistingCooldowns = true tells the mod to re-time cooldowns that already exist when it applies. This matters if a boss was defeated before you installed or edited the mod and is already counting down. With the option enabled, those existing timers can be brought under the configured duration instead of waiting on their previous value.
Debug = false leaves diagnostic output disabled. Turn debugging on only when you are investigating a problem and understand where the mod writes its messages; diagnostic output does not itself change the cooldown.

Restart after editing
- Stop Palworld or stop the dedicated server.
- Edit the mod configuration and save the file.
- Start Palworld or the server again.
- Defeat or capture a supported fixed-dungeon boss, then observe the entrance or encounter timer.
- If an existing cooldown was present, check whether
ApplyToExistingCooldownschanged it as intended.
The restart is important because the server-authoritative script reads its configuration when the game or server loads. Editing a file while the process is running does not guarantee that the current session will reload it.
Which approach should you use?

Choose the official rates when compatibility and simplicity matter more than isolation. Choose the mod when a fixed-dungeon boss is your only target and an exact duration is worth the additional dependency.

Palworld.tools currently lists 11 cave dungeons and 140 layout variants. Its reference describes each cave dungeon as running on a 299-minute cycle, temporarily closing when that timer expires, and continuing to count while the player is logged out. Those figures come from a third-party reference and can change with game updates.
Use the live timer at the dungeon entrance as the authority for your current game version. Do not infer a universal timer from an older guide, a different world setting, or a different dungeon type. A closure cycle and a fixed-dungeon boss cooldown are separate concepts, which is why a boss-focused mod may not change every cave entrance timer.

Respawn state is server-authoritative. Apply the setting where the world is simulated:

- Single-player: install and configure the mod in the local game instance, or edit the local server settings when using the official configuration route.
- Co-op: the player hosting the session must make the change. A guest’s local configuration cannot override the host.
- Dedicated server: edit the server’s active
PalWorldSettings.inior install the UE4SS mod on that server if its platform supports it.
A joining client can still see the resulting timer, but it cannot change the authoritative respawn time. If one player reports a different cooldown, compare the host/server configuration and the encounter type before reinstalling anything on the client.
Troubleshooting when the timer does not change
The server starts, but the old timer remains
- Confirm that you edited
PalWorldSettings.ini, notDefaultPalWorldSettings.ini. - Verify that the server was fully stopped before saving and restarted afterward.
- Check that the panel’s save operation completed and that the active configuration contains the new values.
- Observe a fresh supported encounter; an existing timer may require
ApplyToExistingCooldowns = truewhen using the mod.
The official clock change affects too much
That is expected. Day and night speed rates are world-wide multipliers. If faster resource, production, or other timed behavior is unacceptable, restore the backed-up settings and use the precise mod instead—provided the target is a supported fixed-dungeon boss on a compatible PC/Windows host.
The mod loads but a particular boss is unchanged
Check the encounter category. Field Alpha, raid, tower, and random cave-dungeon timers are explicitly outside the mod’s scope. If the boss is not a fixed-dungeon boss, changing RespawnTimeSeconds will not make that timer obey the configured value.
A guest cannot make the change
Move the installation or configuration to the co-op host or dedicated server. The joining client is not authoritative, so its local files cannot replace the server’s timer.
The dungeon entrance still follows a long cycle
Verify whether you are observing the cave’s closure cycle rather than a boss cooldown. Third-party references describe a 299-minute cave-dungeon cycle, but the live entrance timer for your current version is the better check. A boss cooldown modification does not promise to alter that separate cycle.
