To adjust PSSR on PS5 Pro, go to Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output > Enhance PSSR Image Quality. PlayStation says this option is on by default and is available only on PS5 Pro consoles in the CFI-7000 model group. It affects image quality in certain compatible games; it is separate from the console’s resolution setting.
Find and change the PSSR setting
- On the PS5 Pro, open Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output.
- Select Enhance PSSR Image Quality. PlayStation says it is enabled by default.
- Leave it enabled or turn it off according to your preference. To change it later, return to the same menu.
Sony’s support guide identifies this option as limited to the CFI-7000 model group. If you cannot find it, first confirm that your console is a PS5 Pro in that group; PlayStation does not document the option for other model groups. PlayStation’s instructions for Enhance PSSR Image Quality provide the official path and eligibility details.
What Enhance PSSR Image Quality does
PlayStation describes the control as improving image quality in certain PSSR-compatible games. Its PS5 Pro product page says Enhanced PSSR can improve fine-detail clarity and image stability in supported titles, but results vary by game. That is a general description, not a guarantee of a visible change in every title or a promise of higher frame rates or resolution.
Use the switch as a system-level image-quality preference, then judge the appearance in a game that supports the feature. Turning it off is an option if you prefer how a particular game looks that way; Sony’s support guidance does not identify it as a fix for any specific visual artifact.

PSSR is not the same as output resolution
Enhance PSSR Image Quality and Resolution are separate settings under Video Output. PlayStation says the console detects the connected TV’s capabilities; in the Resolution menu, Automatic selects the highest resolution that TV supports. PSSR is Sony’s AI-enhanced resolution technology for 4K TV output in compatible games, but Sony’s instructions do not require a 4K television just to toggle the Enhance PSSR option. A 4K display matters if you want to view 4K output.
Other options in Video Output, including HDR, VRR and 120 Hz Output, are also distinct. Their availability or behavior depends on the connected display and, in some cases, the game. For example, 120 Hz output requires a TV and game that support 120 Hz; these options are not universal PSSR settings. Check whether your game supports Enhanced PSSR
The system switch does not add Enhanced PSSR to every PS5 Pro game. PlayStation’s current Enhanced PSSR list includes:
- Resident Evil Requiem
- SILENT HILL f and SILENT HILL 2
- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
- Alan Wake 2 and Control
- Monster Hunter Wilds and Dragon’s Dogma 2
- Dragon Age: The Veilguard
- Nioh 3 and Rise of the Ronin
- Crimson Desert
- Assassin’s Creed Shadows
- Cyberpunk 2077
PlayStation’s list can change, so check its PS5 Pro page for the latest supported titles. Sony also says results vary by game. Being enhanced for PS5 Pro does not, by itself, establish that a game uses Enhanced PSSR.

Keep in-game graphics modes separate
Some games provide their own PS5 Pro graphics modes in the game’s menus. Those choices are separate from the system-level Enhance PSSR Image Quality switch, and their effects are specific to the title. For example, Naughty Dog Lead Programmer Vincent Marxen described a PS5 Pro-specific enhanced rendering mode for The Last of Us Part II Remastered that renders at 1440p, upscales to 4K via PSSR and targets 60 fps. That developer statement applies to that game mode, not to every PSSR-compatible title.
If a game offers its own graphics presets, choose among them in that game’s settings; use the console-level PSSR switch independently. Check the game’s own description of its modes rather than assuming a particular resolution or frame-rate result from enabling PSSR.
