Roblox’s general published rule is that users outside the European Union should appeal within 30 days of the moderation action. Roblox says users in the EU have six months to appeal an initial moderation action. Submit one complete appeal from the affected account using the account’s associated email address. An appeal gives the decision a second look, but it does not guarantee that Roblox will remove the penalty or restore moderated content.

First identify what was moderated
Not every Roblox ban is a Roblox platform ban. Before choosing a form, identify who made the decision and what was affected.

Platform moderation versus creator moderation
Roblox platform moderation normally produces a Roblox-generated notice referring to an account, asset, experience, Community Standard, maturity requirement, or other platform policy. Those actions generally belong in Violations & Appeals or the Roblox Support form.

An experience creator can also enforce rules inside an experience. For example, a creator may ban a player for cheating, disruptive behavior, or breaking a private experience rule. That does not automatically mean Roblox suspended the player’s account. Roblox’s Terms of Use say users should generally contact the creator first about disputes involving creator-generated content, experience rules, or creator moderation. Roblox reserves the right to intervene but also reserves the right not to do so.
Do not send Roblox Support a platform-moderation appeal for a private experience ban unless the notice shows that Roblox also took action against your account or content.
Collect the evidence before you appeal
Roblox asks for different information depending on whether the action concerns an account or a piece of content. Record the details before deleting, replacing, or materially changing anything.

- Moderation notice: save the message, email, screenshot, or notification showing the action and its wording.
- Date and time: record when the action occurred and your time zone if it matters.
- Policy category: note the specific Community Standard, maturity issue, copyright claim, advertising rule, or other reason Roblox cited.
- Content identifiers: collect the asset ID, experience ID, direct Roblox URL, or other location of the affected item.
- Relevant context: preserve screenshots or a short factual description showing what the content was intended to do and what Roblox may have misunderstood.
- Account-security evidence: if the account may have been compromised, note the last time you had normal access, suspicious changes, password or email changes, two-step verification changes, and any security ticket number.
- Ownership information: for group content, establish that you are the group owner; for a user-owned experience, identify the experience owner.
For an account appeal, Roblox’s published instructions ask for the username and a brief explanation of why the account moderation should be reconsidered. For a content appeal, prepare the username, explanation, asset ID, and link to the content. See Roblox’s official Appeal Your Content or Account Moderation instructions for the current requirements.
Route 1: use Violations & Appeals
Use this route when the moderation notice provides a direct appeal link or when the action appears in Roblox’s appeal interface.
- Sign in to the affected Roblox account.
- Open https://www.roblox.com/report-appeals.
- Select the violation or moderation action you want reviewed.
- Choose Request Appeal, or the equivalent control shown by the current interface.
- Explain specifically why the decision should be reevaluated.
- Submit the appeal once and save any confirmation or reference number.
- Return to the same interface to monitor the violation’s status.
The labels and available actions can change, and not every moderation category necessarily appears in the same interface. When Roblox accepts an appeal, Creator Hub documentation says the violation is shown as Appeal accepted under the violation.
If a violation is not listed, do not assume that the action is unappealable. Move to the Support form and state clearly that the moderation action is missing from Violations & Appeals.
Route 2: use the Roblox Support form
Use Roblox Support when:
- the moderation notice tells you to contact Support;
- the violation does not appear at Violations & Appeals;
- the action concerns content that is not represented in the appeal interface; or
- you are following a creator-specific content-maturity or experience appeal workflow.
Roblox’s general Support guidance asks for the username, device information, help category, and a detailed description of the issue. The form’s labels can change, so follow the closest current category and the wording in your notice rather than forcing the issue into an unrelated category.
For an account action
Provide the exact username, the date of the action, the text of the notice, and a concise explanation of why the account moderation is wrong or should be reconsidered. Ask for a specific outcome, such as removal of the warning, restoration of account access, or correction of an incorrectly attributed violation.
For a moderated asset or experience
Include the username, asset or experience ID, direct URL, notice text, and a short explanation of the alleged error. Explain what the item contains, what it was intended for, and why the cited rule does not apply or was applied to the wrong content.

For an experience action missing from Violations & Appeals
Roblox Creator Hub currently describes this Support path for an experience whose moderation action is not shown in the appeal interface:
- Open Roblox Support.
- Choose Appeal a Decision as the help category, if that label is still present.
- Choose I was wrongly moderated for other content I created as the help subcategory, if shown.
- Enter the experience ID in the Asset ID field.
- Describe the precise error in the issue-description field and submit the form.
Support labels may change. If your form uses different wording, choose the closest current appeal category and identify the experience ID in the description as well. The Creator Hub content-maturity documentation identifies the experience owner or group owner as the person who should use this process. A regular group member should not appeal group-owned content on the group’s behalf unless Roblox specifically authorizes it.
How to write an appeal Roblox can evaluate
A strong appeal is brief but specific. It should answer four questions:
- What action are you challenging? Identify the account, asset, experience, and date.
- What rule did Roblox cite? Quote or accurately paraphrase the category in the notice.
- Why was it misapplied? Explain the factual mistake, missing context, mistaken identity, incorrect label, or security issue.
- What should Roblox do? Request restoration, removal of a strike, correction of a maturity label, reinstatement of an asset, or another precise remedy.
Check the current policy Roblox named in the notice before submitting. Useful references include the Roblox Community Standards, Restricted Content Policy, content-maturity documentation, Terms of Use, and, where relevant, the Advertising Standards. Roblox says its Community Standards may change, so use the current text rather than relying on an old guide or cached screenshot.
The Community Standards cover areas such as safety, harassment and discrimination, violent or graphic content, sexual or romantic content, illegal or regulated goods, scams, misleading or repetitive content, intellectual-property violations, advertising, personal-information sharing, and directing users off-platform. Mention only the section relevant to your notice; listing every policy category makes an appeal harder to evaluate.

Appeal template
Hello Roblox Appeals,
I am appealing the moderation action on account [username], involving [account, content, experience, or asset], issued on [date].
The notice identifies [policy or violation category]. I believe the decision should be reviewed because [specific factual reason].
The relevant content is [asset or experience ID], available at [URL]. It was intended to [briefly explain its purpose or context].
Specifically, [explain why the cited rule does not apply, what was misidentified, or what context was missed]. If the action resulted from activity I did not perform, the account may have been compromised during [date or approximate period].
Please review the decision and restore [account, content, access, or correct label] if the action was made in error.
Thank you.Examples of useful specificity
- Misidentified content: identify the exact asset and explain which part of the notice does not describe it.
- Missing context: explain the content’s in-experience purpose without arguing that a rule should be ignored.
- Incorrect maturity information: identify the questionnaire answer, the actual in-experience feature, and the precise mismatch.
- Compromised account: state that you did not perform the cited activity, when legitimate access ended, what suspicious changes appeared, and which security evidence you have.
- Wrong account or ownership: identify the account, group, experience, or asset that was incorrectly attributed to you.
Important deadline and duplicate-appeal rules
Roblox’s general published deadline is 30 days from the moderation action affecting the account for users outside the EU. This is Roblox’s stated internal appeal rule, not a guarantee that every country’s legal deadlines are identical. Appeal immediately even if the consequence is temporary: a short suspension may expire before the review, and the content or creator tools may become harder to inspect afterward.
Roblox also says that once a moderation action has been reviewed, it will not review duplicate appeals for the same action. Do not send the same explanation repeatedly through Violations & Appeals, Support, and unrelated categories. Check first whether your original form was actually submitted, look for the response in the associated email account and spam folder, and preserve the confirmation or reference number.
Submitting through a different account is not a safe workaround. Roblox’s published instructions say the appeal must be submitted by the account owner using a valid email address associated with the account.
What happens after submission?
Roblox says an appeal gives the moderation decision a second look, but submitting one does not guarantee that the penalty will be removed. Roblox also warns that most moderated content generally cannot be restored once moderated.
Roblox describes moderation as a combination of automated systems and human moderators. Uploaded images, meshes, audio, and video go through review, and experiences are evaluated when published or updated. Roblox also describes text filtering, image and asset analysis, audio scanning for intellectual-property infringement, automated speech recognition for voice chat, AI classification of potentially violative language, human review of flagged or reported material, and detection of identical or similar reuploads. The exact method used in a particular case cannot be reliably inferred from the notice.

Enforcement can include warnings, content removal, account restrictions, suspensions, and bans. Roblox says review can take into account the severity of the violation, the reason for the appeal, and the user’s behavior on the platform. If account history or a linked alternate account was incorrectly attributed, address that directly and provide the relevant facts rather than focusing only on the single item.

The appeal link is missing
- Screenshot and save the moderation notice.
- Record the username, asset or experience ID, URL, date, and policy category.
- Check Violations & Appeals.
- If the action is absent, open Roblox Support.
- Choose the closest current appeal category and state that the violation does not appear in the appeal interface.
The missing link is a reason to use Support, not a reason to submit duplicate tickets or appeal from an unrelated account.
A parent or guardian is appealing for a child
Roblox’s main appeal guidance says that only the account owner may submit an appeal. Roblox’s separate guidance recognizes that a parent or guardian may be able to discuss the child’s moderation status, while a friend cannot appeal for another user. Because these instructions address different kinds of access, a parent should use the affected account’s associated information where possible and clearly identify themselves as the parent or guardian. Do not assume that a parent can submit every type of appeal on the child’s behalf.

The account may have been hacked
Include the security problem in the moderation appeal, but also use Roblox’s account-security or account-access support route. State:
- that you did not perform the cited activity;
- when you last had legitimate access;
- when you noticed suspicious access or account changes;
- whether the email address, password, or two-step verification settings changed;
- whether anyone else had access to or shared the account; and
- any related security-support ticket number.
Do not invent a hacking explanation to avoid responsibility. A security claim is useful only when it accurately describes what happened.
Content-maturity or compliance errors
If Roblox restricted an experience because its maturity label or compliance information is inaccurate, review the experience and its Maturity & Compliance Questionnaire. Compare each answer with the actual features and presentation of the experience. Correct inaccurate information when appropriate, then appeal if Roblox’s action was based on a specific error.

Include the experience ID, identify the exact questionnaire answer or maturity label at issue, and explain the mismatch. Roblox says inaccurate maturity information can lead to a changed or removed label, restricted playability, or other moderation consequences, particularly when inaccurate information is repeated. Correcting the questionnaire is not a guarantee that an existing moderation action will be reversed.
Group-owned or creator-owned content
The owner should submit the appeal: the group owner for group-owned content or the experience owner for a user-owned experience. Include the relevant ID and explain the owner’s relationship to the content. A group member or collaborator should not represent the group in an appeal unless Roblox specifically permits it.
Copyright, DMCA, or other intellectual-property action
Do not automatically use an ordinary Community Standards appeal for a copyright or intellectual-property removal. Roblox’s Terms of Use describe separate intellectual-property procedures, including removal or disabling access to content identified in a valid DMCA notice and possible action against repeat infringers.

Read the notice carefully. If it names copyright, DMCA, trademark, or another rights complaint, follow the legal response or counter-notice process specified there. Do not submit a legal declaration or counter-notification unless you understand its accuracy requirements and the statements are true.
Advertising or monetization action
If the action concerns an advertisement, campaign, or advertising account, review Roblox’s current Advertising Standards and use the route named in the notice. Roblox says enforcement can include removal of advertising content, campaign suspension, advertising-account suspension, or Roblox-account suspension. Identify which of these occurred rather than describing the issue only as a general account ban.
The temporary action has already expired
Roblox’s content-moderation guidance says some time-lapsed consequences may no longer be readily appealable, using a 20-minute timeout as an example. An appeal may therefore be unable to restore an expired timeout. You can still report an apparent false positive as feedback through the available Roblox channel, but distinguish that feedback from a guaranteed reversal of the completed penalty.
EU and UK appeal rights
European Union users
Roblox states that EU users have six months to appeal an initial moderation action. After using Roblox’s internal complaint process, an EU user may also be able to select a certified out-of-court dispute-settlement body under the Digital Services Act or seek judicial redress.
The European Commission explains that these certified bodies handle disputes about platform content-moderation decisions. Choose a body whose subject matter and language coverage fit the dispute, and check the Commission’s current list and guidance because certifications, platform coverage, languages, and dates can change. The body’s decision is not binding on the parties, although the parties must engage in good faith. It is not a guaranteed mechanism for forcing Roblox to restore the content.

This is a different process from appealing a moderation action against your own account or content. If you submitted a report through Roblox’s EU Digital Services Act illegal-content reporting form, Roblox says you may appeal its decision about that report.
The EU illegal-content reporting process asks for information such as your name, email address, content type, exact location or URL, the country where the content is allegedly illegal, and an explanation of why it violates local law. Use that process only for a report about allegedly illegal content; it is not a substitute for appealing your own account moderation.
United Kingdom users
Roblox states that UK users whose content or accounts are actioned have a right to appeal. UK users can also submit illegal-content reports and reports concerning content harmful to children under the Online Safety Act. These UK rights are not identical to the EU Digital Services Act process.
Roblox says it does not disclose the identity or existence of the original report to the user whose content was actioned, and does not disclose appeal information to the original reporter. Follow the route and instructions in the current notice or Roblox’s UK reporting guidance. For the ordinary internal deadline, users outside the EU should also account for Roblox’s published general 30-day rule unless the notice or applicable process says otherwise.

A rejection does not justify sending the same appeal repeatedly. First verify that the response concerned the correct username, moderation action, asset, and appeal. Save the decision, reference number, and date.
Then choose the route that matches the issue:
- Ordinary Roblox moderation: Roblox’s published rule says duplicate appeals for a reviewed action will not be reviewed. There is no guaranteed second ordinary internal review.
- EU user: investigate the DSA-certified out-of-court dispute-settlement option and other rights described above.
- Copyright or trademark: use the legal response or counter-notice process named in the notice, not a generic policy ticket.
- Private experience or community ban: contact the creator, group owner, or administrator.
- Hacked account: continue through the account-security route and provide evidence of unauthorized access.
- Significant economic, copyright, or safety dispute: consider qualified legal advice rather than making unsupported threats to Roblox.
What not to include
- Duplicate submissions through multiple categories.
- Insults, threats, or attacks on Roblox staff.
- Unsupported claims that Roblox must reverse the decision.
- The argument that other users supposedly broke the same rule.
- A long emotional narrative that never identifies the violation or requested remedy.
- A generic statement such as I did nothing wrong without explaining the specific error.
- An admission that contradicts the actual facts.
- A claim that the action was caused by AI unless Roblox’s notice specifically says so.
- A hacking claim that is not true.
The goal is not to win an argument with the moderation system. It is to give the reviewer enough precise information to identify the action, compare it with the cited rule, and determine whether the penalty or content decision was made in error.
The Bottom Line
For a Roblox platform moderation action, appeal promptly through Violations & Appeals; if the action is missing there, use Roblox Support. Include the exact username, notice, policy category, asset or experience ID, URL, relevant context, and a specific requested remedy. Roblox’s general published deadline is 30 days outside the EU, EU users have six months for an initial appeal, and a reviewed action should not be resubmitted as a duplicate. Private experience bans, copyright removals, hacked accounts, and creator-owned content require their own routes.
