What changes in the Everdark Caligo fight?
Everdark Sovereigns are enhanced Nightlord forms with greater power and new moves. Bandai Namco says players must first defeat the original Nightlord to access its Everdark version; the activity is online-only and appears for a limited time. Its 2025 announcement calendar is historical, so it does not confirm Caligo’s current availability. Check the in-game expedition listing.

PC Gamer’s August 7, 2025 guide reports that Everdark Caligo starts in the familiar phase-two encounter, then gains icy armor at approximately 75% health. The armor makes her less susceptible to damage, and the fight can turn into a chase as she moves around the arena. Treat the health threshold as an approximate guide observation, not official frame data.
Compared with standard Fissure in the Fog, expect extra frost pressure and the reported armor phase. Do not confuse this Everdark fight with Deep of Night tuning: Bandai Namco’s version 1.03.2 notes separately say falling-hail damage was reduced during the Fissure in the Fog Raid event in Deep of Night mode.

How to prepare during the three-day expedition
Nightreign gives you a limited in-game clock across a three-day expedition. Gathering loot, defeating enemies, leveling at Sites of Grace and choosing a route all compete for that time. Aim for useful defensive and offensive effects rather than a fixed build: your options depend on the route, available loot, character and team.
Prioritize frost resistance and fire damage
PC Gamer recommends building frost resistance and bringing fire damage where possible. A fiery weapon or fire affinity can help answer Caligo’s frost-heavy defenses and attacks. These are guide recommendations, not a guaranteed or independently tested best build.
Consider the Mountaintop Shifting Earth when available
PC Gamer recommends the Mountaintop Shifting Earth as a useful route if the expedition offers it. Its guide says defeating local enemies can provide frost resistance, the Flying Dragon can grant an anti-dragon attack effect, and completing the area can award an additional Mountaintop Favor. The route takes time, so weigh those potential benefits against the equipment, levels and other opportunities your expedition still needs.
Keep mobility in mind
Caligo’s aerial movement and ranged frost attacks make it useful to preserve stamina and positioning options. Avoid spending all your stamina on attacks when you may need to evade or reposition. The available guide does not establish exact attack timings or damage values, so respond to what Caligo is doing rather than relying on a fixed timing chart.

How to handle Caligo in the arena
- Watch for ranged frost attacks. PC Gamer describes frozen crystals and icy projectiles. Keep enough room to react rather than getting locked into a long attack sequence.
- Adjust when the icy armor appears. The guide reports that it forms around 75% health and increases Caligo’s resistance. Expect damage to become less effective and avoid treating the second half as a simple damage race.
- Stay ready to reposition. Caligo flies around the arena, according to PC Gamer. Keep stamina available and move to maintain a safe response to breath and ranged attacks.
- Use your preparation consistently. Frost resistance helps address the encounter’s frost pressure, while fire damage is the guide-recommended offensive option. The right balance depends on what your party acquired during the expedition.
What rewards does Everdark Caligo give?
Bandai Namco says victories against Everdark Sovereigns award Sovereign Sigils, which can be exchanged for special Relics and other items. The publisher also says the first Everdark Sovereign clear grants additional sigils.
PC Gamer reports a reward of around 20 Sovereign Sigils for a Caligo victory; treat that as a guide-reported amount, not a guaranteed current payout. The guide also identifies Dark Night of the Miasma as a Caligo-related purchasable relic. It lists the relic as concealing the player when frostbite is nearby, giving the starting armament frost, and improving physical damage negation.
Known fixes and version context
Bandai Namco’s version 1.02 notes document fixes for Caligo sometimes moving outside the battle area and for ice-block positions failing to synchronize between players. Version 1.03.2 later records a Fissure in the Fog visibility adjustment and the Deep of Night-specific reduction to falling-hail damage. These notes document particular fixes and tuning; they do not establish that every reported issue is fixed or that no later changes have been made.
