Use Ghost-, Poison-, or Steel-type attacks to exploit Gardevoir’s weaknesses. For a Mega Gardevoir raid, a Pokémon GO Hub guide recommends three to five high-level Trainers, but the number you need depends on your team and levels. Choose your strongest available counters, dodge charged attacks when practical, and check the in-game raid view to confirm whether Gardevoir is currently available.
What is Gardevoir weak against in Pokémon GO?
Gardevoir is a Psychic- and Fairy-type Pokémon. Its weaknesses are Ghost, Poison, and Steel attacks, so prioritize Pokémon that can use moves of those types. Gardevoir resists Dragon, Fighting, and Psychic attacks; avoid relying on those move types when you have an effective alternative.

Move type matters: a strong Pokémon with a move that exploits a weakness can be more useful than a nominally powerful attacker using a resisted move. Choose from the Pokémon and moves you actually have, and consider both damage and how long each attacker can stay in battle.
Which Pokémon are the best Gardevoir raid counters?
The following examples appear in Pokémon GO Hub’s counter guide dated February 15, 2026. They cover Steel and Ghost attacks; they are options, not a required lineup. Rankings and move balance can change.
#1 Best Overall
- The packaging is Japanese, but item works the same as the US version.
- Catch Pokémon and track your rest rhythm with the Pokémon GO Plus + accessory!
- Keep track of your sleep with the press of a button
- Press and hold the central button on the Pokémon GO Plus + accessory and place it by your pillow to track your rest rhythm on the Pokémon Sleep app
- There’s a Pikachu within your Pokémon GO Plus + that can sing you lullabies and act as your morning alarm; Pikachu grows friendlier the more you sleep, unlocking even more sounds!
| Counter | Recommended attacks | Attack type |
|---|---|---|
| Dusk Mane Necrozma | Metal Claw / Sunsteel Strike | Steel |
| Mega Metagross | Bullet Punch / Meteor Mash | Steel |
| Mega Gengar | Lick / Shadow Ball | Ghost |
| Metagross | Bullet Punch / Meteor Mash | Steel |
| Shadow Dialga | Metal Claw / Iron Head | Steel |
| Shadow Chandelure | Hex / Shadow Ball | Ghost |
| Eternatus | Poison Jab / Sludge Bomb | Poison |
| Nihilego | Poison Jab / Sludge Bomb | Poison |
Pokémon GO Hub’s counter rankings include calculated damage and battle estimates; they are guide calculations, not independent test results. If you do not have the top-ranked options, use other Pokémon with Ghost-, Poison-, or Steel-type attacks. A well-leveled team with appropriate moves is more useful than chasing a specific lineup you cannot field.
How many Trainers do you need for Mega Gardevoir?
Pokémon GO Hub’s Mega Gardevoir guide, dated July 7, 2026, recommends three to five high-level Trainers. Treat that as a practical estimate rather than a guaranteed minimum: lower-level players or less optimized counters may need more people.

Do not confuse a standard Mega Gardevoir raid with a Super Mega Raid. The official 2026 guidance for exceptionally powerful Super Mega Raids recommends at least seven other Trainers and Mega-Evolved Pokémon in their parties. That advice applies to the Super Mega Raid format, not standard Mega Raids.
How to prepare and fight the raid
Build a focused six-Pokémon party
Niantic’s raid instructions say to select six Pokémon. Before the battle, check that your party has attacks matching Gardevoir’s Ghost, Poison, or Steel weaknesses. If you have several viable choices, consider their levels and durability as well as their moves.

Use attacks and dodge deliberately
Tap to use Fast Attacks. When the Charged Attack button’s meter is full, tap it to use the Charged Attack. Swipe left or right to dodge incoming attacks. Niantic recommends using super-effective attacks and dodging the boss’s charged attacks to help your Pokémon remain in battle longer.
Rejoin if your party is knocked out
If the first attempt fails while the raid is still active, you can heal your Pokémon, rejoin, and try again without using another pass. Niantic says the pass continues to grant access for the duration of that raid.

What rewards and raid format details matter?
Mega Raids award extra Mega Energy for a faster win, rather than extra Premier Balls for speed. The exact reward depends on the raid and its in-game presentation; focus first on winning within the timer and keeping your team effective.
Niantic has also stated that updates to raid and Gym battles can change attack damage, energy generation, and durations. Because those changes can affect move performance, treat dated counter rankings as a guide rather than a permanent ranking.
